Classifieds / WTB board and paddle

Hey folks.  Took a season off SUP since I have been paddling a lot of Vaa outrigger.  I'm looking to pick up a board again for mostly flat water fun/fitness paddling.  I was thinking SB Allstar, SIC, Infinity blackfish or something like that.  My last Whiplash was 26" so I'd like to stay around that width in case I decide to do anything but dead flat water.

Also looking for a paddle.  My last Kenalu was cut about 82/83 for me (6ft).  If any one on the upper east cost has anything, let me know.  I'm about 1.5hrs west of Phili.

Hey Folks,
Last bit of SUP stuff for sale.  Kenalu Maliko with the extended ergo T handle.  Currently set at 83" (hot glued), but super easy to lengthen or shorten.  Paddle is in perfect shape and comes with quickblade paddle bag.  $250 and I can ship it if anyone needs (that's how I got it).  Not really expensive since I can take it apart to ship.

Last item I need to sell as I'm raising funds to become a outrigger paddle distributor.  Love paddling Tahitian V1.

Classifieds / Kenalu Mana & Wiki and Infinity Whiplash

I have both. The wiki is the xtuf. I be,I eve they both have xtuf shafts and extended ergo handles. $350 for the man, $250 for the wiki. 

I can grab some pictures tomorrow I think but they are in really great shape.  I only paddle flat water lakes here in PA. I can ship easily since the blades and hand,es are hit glued on.

Whiplash is a 14x26 non dugout. Great board in really good shape. Has the Larry Allison ventral and thruster fin set up. Have extra fins to go with it.  Also comes with a surf tech bag.  Everything for $1000

Hey folks,
Been looking on clist and facebook.  Looking to get my buddy an all around cruiser for his beach place in NJ so his family can use it.  Needs to be at least 30" wide and stable.  Also, needs to be under $1000.

Thought I would ask the good folks here to see if anyone had something laying around they might want to sell.  I live around Harrisburg PA, but can make a drive for a good board.

Nice board. Haven’t used it since a snapped my Achilles.  $250 local pick up near Harrisburg PA.  Comes with extra springs and cams.  Also have a big kahuna land paddle for $50.

Classifieds / Fai Vaa Tahitian Outiggers

I know it's not SUP but figured some folks out here paddle outriggers as well.   I'm trying to organize a shipment of 8 Fai Vaa V1s from the west coast.  If I can get all eight (or at least 7) spoken for it would really cut down shipping for everyone.  White hulls with green, grey or blue tops.  Vaccum bagged glass which come in at around 28lbs rigged,

If I can get all 8, total cost would be $3300 as is or $3650 with custom length foot brace and foot pumps installed.  The canoes would be delivered to me in PA and I was going to make an east coast drive to deliver (for gas and food money).  Pic is from the Fai website.  Second pic gives you an idea of colors.  Trying to get this nailed down by the end of November if possible.

SUP General / Blade Shapes and "Feel".......Why?

I had been paddling with a Kenalu Maliko for over a year and recently picked up a Trifecta to give a high aspect blade a try as they are said to have a softer catch which would be good for me as I paddle distance flat water.

When first using the Trifecta, I found that I was getting gurgling at every catch.  Now the shaft is a few inches shorter than my Maliko which was not helping the issue, however to add to the issue, I had to bury a longer blade to really plant it.

This leads me to the following question.  Does the blade shape really make a big difference is the entire thing is supposed to be buried at the catch?  I know the surface of the blade makes a difference in feel (dihedrals etc), but 95 sq inches buried under the water should give the same resistance regardless correct?  I know I'm wrong, I just can't noodle through why.  For example, take two totally flat blades (a la Kialoa), one is a tear drop and the other is a square high aspect.  Both are 95 square inches.  Bury them both to the ferule and pull.  Difference?

Hey folks.  Got a Werner Trance (brand new) with a Isup I bought for my wife.  It's a one piece cut to 77".  I'd rather get an adjustable for her so she can use it and the kids can also.  It has never been used.  The original sticker goo is still on it from when I did a crappy job taking it off.

$250 obo.  Also would consider trades if that works for anyone.

Classifieds / WTB decent 14ft all around

Hey everyone.  Since I started surfsking and OC1, I don't SUP nearly as much as I used to so I sold my Allstar and haven't paddled SUP for about 1 1/2 years.  I think I'd like to get one again for fitness and just relaxing paddles around the lake.

I'm in midstate PA but can drive a little ways for the right board.  Looking for a 14 by at least 28.  My old Naish Glide was great and I never should have gotten rid of it.

Anyone with a board for under $900 max let me know.  Thanks

Selling my Allstar after having it for 2 seasons (only really paddled one).  I've been paddling my surfski and OC1 pretty much 99% of the time anyway.

Asking $1100 obo.  For asking I'll throw in a generic adjustable carbon paddle.  Also, willing to trade for a wider cruising board 28" wide or wider.

I'm located in Hershey PA but I can drive Phili, Baltimore or DC since they are pretty close.

Gear Talk / Hulu vs Shaka Puu vs Methane

So it’s time for me to replace my generic carbon/glass adjustable and get a good paddle.  Kialoa are having an awesome closeout sale and have the Hulu, Methane, and Shaka Puu on sale (hulu is about $40 more than the other 2).

I have a 14’ Allstar and I’m 6ft 195lbs.  Since I live in central PA, I paddle mostly lakes and rivers around me so no surfing at all.  If I’m lucky, the wind blows the right way up river and gives some small rolling swell but that’s as exciting as it gets.  Mostly I paddle for fun and fitness (5-6 miles per session).  I might race once this summer but I also have an OC1 and surfski I paddle as well.

I like the Hulu because it has the hook blade and have the same blade on my Nehu OC1 paddle.  It’s super thin and super clean in the water.  However the Hulu doesn’t have the oval shaft like on my Nehu.  As for the Shaka and Methane, I have read comparisons of the two (methane being smaller version of the shaka) but usually people are using it in the surf context.  Also, never found a comparison between them and the Hulu.
Any help would be appreciated.

Classifieds / Scorpius OC1

I'm swapping out a couple of boats this year and my OC1 is one of them.  Scorpius OC1 I bought used last year.  Good boat, no leaks or issues.  I'm selling to get a Hurricane which is faster for flat water racing.  Asking $2000 obo ($400 less than I paid last spring).

I live around Harrisburg PA but I driving to Balitmore, DC or Phila is no big deal.  I can just make a paddle day out of it.

Classifieds / Looking for a paddle

So it's been a bit over a year now since I starting SUPing.  I have an generic carbon paddle and would like to upgrade.  When I got my OC1, I bought a Kialoa and now have the sensation of what a good paddle should really feel like from the catch to the release.

I'm 6' 195lbs and do 99% flat water paddling.  My current paddle is set at about 83"  Looking for a Kialoa, Ke Nalu or Quickblade used.  If anyone is looking to thin the herd, let me know!  Thanks
