I used to SUP surf and do some bay paddling, but I've spent a lot more time in kayaks the last few years. I just dug out the 10'10" x 28" old Bic Jungle and took it for a spin, and I'm now motivated to look for a new board for my 50th birthday. Here's what my usage is likely to be in order of frequency:
1. Paddling on the local bay (Bellingham, WA) in all conditions, incl. downwinding.
2. Taking it to the coast when I kayak surf. This would likely be kayak surf in the morning, SUP outside the break in the afternoon + windy days. Surfing performance isn't critical, but I want to be comfortable getting out and back in through shore break.
3. Dedicated downwind trips to the gorge.
I'm not planning to race so I'm happy to trade some top end speed for stability. That said, my balance is decent and I like fast things :-) - I'm thinking one of the 14' boards. I'm 5'10" and 180lbs. Let me know what you think.
Thanks
Michael

I need to take some pics, but in the meantime I wanted to get this out there for a price check. I got the board in Sept. 2015, but it's only been in the water 5 or 6 times. I had a back injury and haven't surfed for 1.5 years. So, I've finally conceded, and the board needs a new home. It has some scratching on the front of the deck, and it has rail tape on it (if I recall a few scratches before I put on the tape). And it has a rock ding on one fin -- from its first time in the water . Anyway, I haven't been keeping up with the sport and would like some advice on price. I would prefer a local pickup -- Seattle to the Canadian border -- but I'm open to ship if I don't get local interest. Thanks!

Looking to spend 7-10 days with my wife on Maui or Kauai (preferred) in November. I would like to take a few SUP lessons while there, but probably not a full blown camp. Let me know if you have any suggestions, thanks.

I am flying down to pick up a Vanagon in Fort Bragg, and I would like to turn the drive home into a mini SUP road trip. I will bring my wetsuit, but no board/paddle, so looking for 1-2 friendly spots with SUP rentals -- ideally camping nearby. I am on a 9'2" Fanatic -- rental doesn't have to be high performance, but prefer not to be on a total log. Then again, I'd still rent it... any advice is appreciated.

I live in Bellingham, and I was thinking about taking a trip up to Tofino next week during my daughter's school break. She's a beginner surfer and I'm slightly past beginner on a SUP. Here's the current long range forecast from Surfline:
Nov 21 (Wed) 10-11ft 12s 247° (WSW) 8-9ft 9s 175° (S) 2-3ft 10s 321° Nov 22 (Thu) 6-7ft 8s 222° (SW) 5-6ft 11s 284° (WNW) 3-4ft 8s 158° Nov 23 (Fri) 6-7ft 5s 173° (S) 4-5ft 10s 272° (W) 1-2ft 18s 183° Nov 24 (Sat) 17-18ft 10s 188° (S) 2-3ft 15s 189° (S) 0-1ft 0s 0° Nov 25 (Sun) 13-14ft 11s 202° (SSW) 4-5ft 6s 274° (W) 4-5ft 12s 274°
We have been out at long beach, cox, and chestermans before, so a little familiar with the area. Given our skill level and this forecast, do you recommend going at all--and if so, what areas would you look at to be more protected? Thanks.

I'm thinking about picking up and moving for a year to somewhere I can sup surf regularly. This is a ways out, but I want to start the planning fairly soon. Ultimately there will probably be lots of factors to take into account, but I would like to cast a wide net to start with, so let's start with two requirements:
1. Very consistent surf with enough scope for some progression. I'm a beginner but hope not to be by the end. Ideal would be a break right out the door with a couple more that work on different swells within a half hour or so.
2. SUP friendly, or at least tolerant. I don't want to spend the year being glared at.

I managed to trash both side fins on a recent trip to Kauai and I am wondering what people would recommend as replacements? I know nothing about fins, so not even sure what info would help people help me :-). Also, there's a minor chip right along the fin box -- what's the recommended way to fix? Thanks

I am looking for a very thin low cut bootie for warm water -- with either a round toe or split toe, but not 5-finger-ish. I prefer sensitivity over major protection; I am just looking to avoid reef cuts on my feet.

I will be in Kauai in August and plan to spend a lot of time on a SUP on the south shore. Any recommendations for lessons? I am not a complete beginner, but I would like to work on technique in the surf. Thanks.

I am a beginner with some time on three different 11-ish by 29-ish boards + 5 days on the Starboard Whopper. I am looking for a 9-6 x 31-ish board and I was thinking about the Fanatic AllWave. But this thread ( http://www.standupzone.com/forum/index.php?topic=14613.0) has now got me wondering about thickness and overall volume b/c I don't want a board that is too corky and 174L seems like a lot. I am 5'10" 190 trending downwards (I hope :-). So -- any thoughts on the AllWave or any other suggestions. I will surf this at Tofino in the spring and on Kauai in the summer. Probably knee to shoulder high surf for a bit yet. Thanks.

I have been SUPing for about 6 weeks, all flatwater/chop, usually 30-60min sessions. I made technique adjustments that have really helped my shoulders and elbows (mostly body rotation and keeping the arms straight). But now I am having issues with my right knee (ACL surgery 2 years ago), which is probably from the torque I'm putting on it when I rotate my torso. It hurts only a little or not at all during paddling, but as soon as I stop, it becomes sore below the kneecap and to the inside. It also swells a little. Any ideas on technique and foot placement, or some exercises, that might help alleviate this?

I am new to SUP and will be buying one of these paddles later this week. I come to the sport with some shoulder issues and I have done some reading on technique, paddle length, blade size, shaft stiffness, etc. My main question is whether the light weight but stiffer Nitro or the heavier but more flexy Carve would be easier on the shoulders -- or whether it's a wash. Money is not the main consideration, but it does factror in a little.
