Does anyone use a iphone or similar device to check conditions and weather? 

If so, what works best for you? Are there any apps that are useful?

Are there any waterpoofing options for your device that you like? Have you taken it on the water?

SUP General / Weather Forecasting for non coastal areas?

Here in Seattle, if i want to check the weather for a paddle, i can use webcams, usually check the local noaa stations or buoys, and/or listen to the weather radio or vhf. 

But what do you use when you are in non coastal areas, such as inland USA or Canada?  Do any of the above options work, or alternatives?

SUP General / What are the pros/cons of learning to sup in coming from surfing or kayaking?

Technique / Do you lay the board deck up or down on the ground?

When laying the board on the beach or grass, is it best to leave it deck up or down?  and does this vary if you have a softtop vs a waxed board?

This is common in kayaking, especially in rough water or high winds, am curious if anyone has tried this on a sup?

Gear Talk / Drilling into and attaching cameras to a softop board?

Hey all,
I'm a photographer who has a 12' laird softop. i would like to attach cameras and attachment points for a gear bag to my board for shooting, and am curious how best to do so with the soft top material.  i'm not so skilled on epoxy work or outfitting with boards,  so any help would be appreciated.
