Funny how the lighting looked hot summer but your wetsuit says something else.

Hit it today 24 hrs later and it's still around 60F. I said screw it and trunked it for the first time this summer. Was minimal swell and light winds so the baggies sesh worked out nicely. Little kid was like "Aren't you cold"! He was surfing well on a soft top and actually got these shots of me w/my Canon SX50.

We've had good surf here in NJ but the upwelling's been BRUTAL. First link the water was mid 50s. Second link warmed up to low to mid 60s.
I wore my Xterra 2mil short sleeve full and diving under was NOT fun.

I sooo want a longboard style sup. Been eying this beauty up.

That does look EPIC! Nice score. Unfortunately I had to give surf lessons so only rode a couple here and there on soft tops! No worries, I get plenty all year long in the off season!

Can’t wait to get out for a few trunking sessions 🤙

Surfside and Quintana beaches on the upper Texas coast where I surf and the water temperature is between 83-85 degrees F. depending on day or night readings. No need for wetsuits.

No wetties is besties! I forget to mention that June 10 the water was a slightly frigid 58F. I was fine in a 3/2 no boots, that isd until I fell in! Dat wata cold! Coupla proners were bummin' sittin' around waiting on sets. Upwelling phenomena.

lol...well, he's like half my age, doesn't have a bum shoulder and is like 100x more motivated doing his blog. But I appreciate the sentiment, Bean. We need to do a sesh together SOON!

Understandable. Minimal conditions are definitely hard to motivate a sesh.

Our lake is barely warm enough to avoid wearing any sort of neoprene.

Sure is slow these days on the Sessions page. Oh well, sign of the times I guess. Things ain't what they used to be. Guess the interest in sup surfing is waning. I know my motivation to edit videos has!

Nice burger waves and riding, J! I'm always so jealous of that break you frequent. It's totally devoid of houses or other  structures. Total opposite of where I surf. At least my break is only two blocks away! Scored some drone footage the other day in similar conditions. Big burgers rule on sup!

I haven't driven once to surf this yr so far. Every sesh has been a walk up!

Here's the SOLOSHOT vid from that gnarly day. Wind was really hard and I almost didn't paddle out. The 9'11" Hull Ripper really handles it..to an extent.

Looks like you found your paradise. Sup surfing is quite addictive! Hustle down peaks easier, catch WAY more waves and ride them WAY longer too! I'm 11 years on a sup now!
