My recovery period was never more than 10 days after the canal plasties, OUTSIDEWAVE  . Had three of em so far. Wearing plugs diligently is a MUST.

Good swell here in Jers last coupla days. I think 1/22/14 was one of the coldest I ever surfed here. 1/22 was a bit too gnarly for me to SUP so I rode my big wave longboard, I call her "Big Blue". 1/23 was SWEET on the Vibe though, piece 'o cake!

That is GoPro inspiration, aircub! Mine arrives tomorrow and I leave for Costa on Sun for a two weeker. Def gonna ROCK the board mount. Tail mount facing forward too! We had some nice waves here in NJ today, used my SOLOSHOT though.

Surfercook; what type of mount is that above on the wood surface?
Hmm, I assume you are speaking of that yellow object in the background? I've no clue, these pics are from a buddy who rocks a forward facing tail mount. This is what he said of it, "Suction cup go pro product. Stays on well, but not to well. I don't want to damage the thing so allowing it to come undone under extreme situations is ideal. I also have a clip I can detach and take off quick to shoot a buddy or whatever".

No clue about his SUP knowledge. I do know he's got good experience w/regular boards. I scored a SWEET lngbrd of his off Craig's for $250.

btw- how do you resize fotos on this forum w/code? So as to not have to do it in editing. Other forums have instructions/details when mouse hovering over the icons above.

Head mount, paddle mount, chest mount, and tail mount facing forward are going to be my first choices. I also am just getting on board the "GoPro Train". Gonna start testing out the different mounts to see how results will vary. I like SupTheCreek's head mount views. He seems to be rather successful w/that view. My buddy gets good results on his longboard w/the tail mount facing forward, but most SUP riders will have to carve out a spot in the padding to configure that one.

attn: SaMoSup. SOLOSHOT config is tricky. There are several factors involved including pan, zoom, horizon orientation, and pairing the armband w/the base. If you zoom in too tight the risk of being out of frame increases. Too far out and the action diminishes. If horizon isn't level and proportion correct as the cam pans the framing gets all wonky. But when you nail it it's worth the effort. If you're considering getting one def go w/the SOLOSHOT2, much improved. Also watch this vid and read the manual a couple times.

Hey surfer cook, like your video!
Thanx, I def have ALOT of em now. This is one of my favorites because everything came together- Good surf, framed perfectly w/the SOLOSHOT, nice lighting, and an uncrowded lineup in the summer. (Seems the smaller url on the share link isn't an embedded player)

I have my Vibe set up as a tri at present. Wanted to get it wired first b4 switching up to a quad. I scored a nice set of quads for $90 on Craigs. Sea Shepard keel twinies w/bites. The keels go for 100 alone.  Def gonna put em in the Vibe pretty soon now that I have about 10 sessions in on the thing. I like quads better, def feel looser. Vid here is my 9'3" Isle, never even put the thruster set in that one.

Great pics! Quite a crew up there. I'm lucky, there's only a couple SUP riders here on LBI in NJ where I live. Lineup is pretty empty where I hit it regularly. We had some pretty stiff offshores on the 18th so I broke out the 9'11" Ripper and it worked real well. I texted a coupla fotogs but they were no shows! DARN! :( I had some pretty nice rides too!

Not bad. That looks like a gnarly decent to the break and I appreciated the view from the water looking at the steps. looked like a busy day. One thing I limit myself to in my vids is a three stroke max when catching the wave. I felt it stated to get tiresome watching alot of paddling for the wave on approach. This is one of my better production, waves were real nice this day which probably helped alot.  ;)
