Surfercook, is that you or someone you know playing the music for your vid?
All me, 'cept for the sax. That's an online collaborator I worked w/on a few jams.

The new vertical drum centers you even better. I put these frame grabs together to demonstrate the improved framing.

I got on board w/Kickstarter waaay back in summer of 2012. After a little over a year of heavy use sold the SS1 on Craig's for $200 and pre-ordered the SS2. Took WAY longer to get than the release date, but they threw in the tripod bag so that was cool. Plus Kickstarters got a discount. I've been stoked on the company from the start. Great support(ask for Kristen) and the thing works great. The SS2 is def STRONG tracking wise. The new vertical drum centers you even better. Just DON'T move the thing(base) after pairing and calibration. In my newest vid(NJ Nor'easter) the base/tripod somehow shifted and I surf outa frame a bunch towards the end of the session. Mighta been from me switching up camera bats. A nice feature is the ilock capability. I secured it to the fence atop the bluf at Point Judith, RI. Not to mention that you can now pair it at the bottom of the bluff and it will track you from the top.

That is heartbreaking. We rarely have incidents involving three drowning at once here in NJ.

Nice size waves. Where are they? I started sup surfing on a 10'6" PSH All Arounder. SOLID ride.

Surfed it three different days on six different boards here in New Jersey. Only one short session on my Vibe as a devil wind came up STRONG and cleared out the lineup. A kiteboarder hit it shortly afterwards and I'm def regretting not capturing some video of him. Surfed almost the whole swell prone.

Gear Talk / Re: Adding 1" or 2" in width - What effect on Performance?
« on: October 14, 2014, 08:21:51 AM »
29" wide? At your weight it'll prob be a step up performance wise. Sounds like a keeper to me. I have a 29er but I'm lighter than you(180 lbs). It's my "Gunnier" board, 9'3" Isle Performance at 124 ltrs. Thing is fast but at 9'3" it's gotten to be a bit lengthy to really turn quickly.

So do these..  ;D

Oh, man! I never even thought to use a fillips! But I do like the idea of not needing a wrench or screwdriver to tighten the little cam down.

Those are some pretty hateful comments posted on this awesome KL vid. He's sooo young in it! I always get a kick outa reading the negative sh!t people write. It's easy to hide behind the anonymity of the internet! As for me, I liked the way sup looked the first time I saw it years and years ago. I think it was Machado or Slater I saw doing it and was totally drawn to it. Wasn't until about 6 years ago that I first tried a friends and then a few more times after that on borrowed boards. I'm REALLY lucky where I live because there are so few hardcore sup riders around here and most of the prone surfers are cool. The other day I was out at one of the more high profile popular spots and a young guy who rips on shortboard was like, "Dude, you are SOLID on that thing". That def made me feel good. Forget the haters and draw inspiration from the positivity I say!  8)
Here's "The Spot", although a smallish day.
I never uploaded this one to YouTube, but according to facebook-
"You can use this link to share this video with anyone, even if they don't have a Facebook account. Anyone with the link will be able to see your video."

That is a handy little $10 piece of plastic! I like the idea of the oversized thumbscrew, no fumblin' around, just tighten/loosen and move on.

You surf that little board well and those waves are lookin' tasty, even w/a bunch of regular surfers out. At 180 lbs I've yet to try anything under 120 ltrs. Your vid is good but maybe try some Time Remapping so the entire edit isn't in slo-mo? Makes for a more interesting viewing experience and quickens the rides up.
The edit linked below was done on my laptop which only houses Adobe Premiere Elements 10. My desktop has CS6 which can do proper Time Remapping. But I still spliced up the rides into regular and slo-mo clips on Elements.
