lol, it's def MORE fun than it looks, SeaMe! For me anyways. I guess it depends on your stoke level. My brother? He hasn't been in the water since we returned from Costa on 2/5. That's my buddy, Jack that's been out. He's not as picky wave/weather wise as my brother.

BRUTAL temps here in the Northeast/East Coast this February. I was stoked to get out on a coupla the "Warmer" days for some sup surfing. Pretty much blew the SOLOSHOT setup for the first sesh. "The Headless SUPman"!

Hauled my longboard and my 6'6' quad fish. Def woulda wanted my Vibe there but it just wasn't gonna happen. Only one day on sup renting outa 31 days there. Still was nice to escape the cold winter of NJ.  Put togeth three vids so far from the raw footage. More to come!

Thanx for the in depth rundown and description of Nicaragua, EB! Now I don't even have to go.  I always knew the offshores were BRUTAL up there from my experiences in CR. The farther north you venture in Costa towards the Nicaragua border the stronger the Popagayo winds get. A local here on LBI (NJ) runs a kitesurfing camp close to the Nic border during our winter months. He gets to enjoy those gusties while we struggle w/the offshores in the surf.
Here's a shot of one of the expats that surfs where we surf regularly in CR. This day was BRUTAL w/the offshores. And this spot is a SOLID 3-4 hrs from the Nic border.
btw- I scoped your profile and from the looks of your quiver I'd say you def know what your doing. NE is a bit vague for your location though. More specific please? LOL- I just noticed we're neck and neck in number of posts.

Nice shots, DB. That was a killer swell. NJ was really good too. I hit it on sup for over two hours on 2/12. Unfortunately I totally failed w/my SOLOSHOT config and wasn't even in frame for the entire sesh except for this one moment when I was gathering my longboard after a bomb. I did score a nice sequence of that wave from a friend at least. Too bad, I had some INCREDIBLE waves on my 8'0" Assassin! Did manage to redeem my SOLOSHOT capabilities the next day in the leftovers.

NICE WAVES! Looks so perf. I checked out your "Dawn Patrol" vid on the GoPro thread. Nice editing there and I really enjoyed seeing Cape Cod beaches, Creek. Just got back from a SOLID Costa trip. Only one day on a rental sup though. Mostly rode my 9'0" high performance longboard, a few days on my 6'6" quad fish, and one sesh on a borrowed 6'0" Thugg Burger. Surfed a total of 22 days out of 31 days total time there. Two days travel time and I was kinda sick for five straight (bathroom time was far exceeding water time).

If you don't mind parting w/a standard sticky disc mount ask if you can put one on and then part w/it. If you have access to hair dryer you can warm the sticky tape and remove it. Also go w/a handle bar mount for the paddle. Switch back and forth between mounts for a variety of perspectives. Plus after a while the paddle mount can get tiresome as the swing weight becomes a factor. IMO headmount and chestmount POV look lame unless you are shooting other riders. Not enough of the wave and rider get shown.

Hello Zoners. Hit Costa for a nice stretch. Sure felt good! Guiones was a blast on SUP. Coconut Harry's had the same old selection of SUPs as last year. Went w/the Naish sled again. $20US for the day! Back in the cold Northeast now. BRRR! PC crashed first day so I had limited time on the web.

I feel for you laker riders. Def have it tougher than us coasties. Can't even imagine what it would be like to try and feed my stoke on lake surf. Nice ride, XLR8.
