Scored a GoPro Hero 4 Silver. Amazing cam. Mostly go it for "Night Mode", "Night Time Lapse", and "Video Time Lapse" modes. Thing is AMAZING. The LCD is REALLY helpful. It has a better processor so images are sharper, but I think I'll still use my Hero 3+ Black in the surf. Some shots and a vid here. Like 20 goes on a longboard. I tried it twice on sup afterwards but wrecked hard. Hit bottom pretty good on the run-out side of the falls bailin' the sup. Butt was bruised! I can attest that there ARE rocks on that river bed, LOTS of em! REALLY wanna try it on an inflatable ULI. https://youtu.be/Q3QM5ZX1w94

Always have been curious about river waves. Musta watched 1000 vids of em. Learned of one 70 miles from me on the Delaware River, packed up gear and hit it. Took me no less than a dozen attempts b4 I even started to get up on my longboard. WASN'T easy. After about the twentieth go I finally rode for like 30 secs. I do this kinda backwards approach to line up. You can seee me dropping in prone in one of the shots. Two hours on the river trying to surf it was a little tiring so I broke out the sup. Only two attempts and wrecked hard both times. Second time I hit the bottom and definitely felt the rocks. I think I need to approach the wave from the back instead of dropping in. There's a little stationary spot just off to the side of the wave that looks like a good approach for sup. An inflatable would be nice but I don't have one. Brought my Vibe. Going back for more soon I hope. It's a beautiful spot. Scudders Falls- http://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/detail/id/2920#main

Finally scored a camera controller module for the SOLOSHOT2. Bought a compatible bridge cam in the likes of a Sony Cyber-shot HX300 but it turned out to be a fail. It only shoots 10 hi res shots in 1sec or 10 low res shots in 5secs. First time out I only got one usable shot because I had it set on hi res. Second time out I set the cam to low res and it worked okay. But the shots are only 640x480 so I edited them to a 16:9/1080 orientation and lost a bit of res. Cam is already on ebay w/a few bidders. Ditchin' it for the Canon Power-shot SX50 which was my first choice anyways. It will supposedly shoot for as long as the SOLOSHOT is set for, which is either 15, 30, or 45 secs. At 5 secs the Sony Cyber is a tough shoot. There's a 3 sec delay b4 the cam starts firing off. With the Sony Cyber you have to be quick and keep in rhythm w/your paddling cadence while triggering the armband sensor since you have such a short shoot time.

Had a coupla solo sesh's w/NO ONE around but a seagull and a lone truck passin' by. Ahhhh, springtime on LBI! WARNING!! Contains Narcissistic Gopro Selfies! Although I did use a variety of mounts other than a board mount which included a paddle mount, handheld, tripod, and "Dune Mount". Used an "Over the shoulder POV David John Walkabout" and his "Selfie paddle view". March 21st PUMPED here in New Jersey. Mornin' was SOO sweet for sup...hardly anyone there, lite wind,no crowd. I pretty much HAD to grab a reg board for the afternoon. Tide dropped, wind picked up more south/sideshore, and crowd got to be a factor. This edit took a WHILE! Stalled it the last few days cuz of the recent swell...big push to finish it tday. https://youtu.be/DVQVcdpCQEo

March 27, 28, and 29. Hit Long Beach- NY day one, Surf City & Barnegat Light day two, and Holgate day three for great sessions each day. Needless to say I was pretty spent after the third day, as were most surfers who were on it. Longboarded and rode a 7'0" Firewire the last day. Long Beach was mackin' and quite the challenge on sup. Looked like NY and NE held swell the whole time too.
