Thanx for the quality stoke on the replies, Zoners! You guys gave me a "Zoner boner"! 🏄‍♂️😎🤙😜 My actual bd date is 5/11.

Was that my buddy Rick H?
Indeed it was. He's been hittin' me up for sup sessions for quite a few years now.

The stoke is real here in New Jersey. April 2023 action. My goal has always been to surf until I'm 65. Next month will be that milestone and it looks like I'll make it!

Scored a few good waves this March in between making palm crosses for a floral distributer. Almost 1600!

Thanks Bean. I would recommend the upgrade if you're too impatient to wait for the regular calibration. I can totally understand if you don't want to wait for that thing because I've spent way too much time doing that. But sometimes the patients pays off. I've been quite lucky that my solo shot went three for three this month. Last month it went three for five so ahead of the game. There's a video on YouTube the guy Skipper something or other who reviewed The SS3+ and they are having stellar results.

I flew to Miami to get a expedited passport

What's that run ya, Fishman? I renewed my son's passport in 2019 and it was $100 for mail-in. No online option that year. When I renewed December 2022 for me and my wife it was $130 ea online. Sh#t! ain't cheap!

Easy enough to do your own photos in Photoshop. Made a template.

Looks like it was a nice session. Pure glass and sunshine! That's quality stoke!

Dude! I can't believe you didn't check your passport first thing! Always always always make sure it's valid and not within the 6 month expiration window. But you already know all that now. Live and learn!
I recently renewed my fourth passport. Forth one in 30 years. Completed the renewal process online with a photo I did myself off my old Canon sx50! Nice not havin' the hassle of mailing everything.

Thanx LBSup. Unfortunately it is the shoulder that had the surgery. After that run of swell from 1/13 to 1/16 it was pretty bad. Feeling better now that I benched myself for the rest of the month. Hoping it will be gtg now.

Keeping the stoke alive even w/a bum shoulder!

Of course I watched your video, I always do.
Well thanx! Good to know! That was one long podcast Perouse linked us to. I only lasted about 15 mins! Like winter surfing if ya don't have enough rubber. I scored what is pretty much an entry level winter suit in the form of a Hyperflex 5/4/3 hooded full. Summer 2021 it was on the clearance rack at the closest surf shop to me which is about a mile away. I paid $120 for it. 1/2 price! It's super comfortable but the arms are only 3mil so if the vortex shows I'm out. My previous rubber was a 5/4 O'Neil Pyro Tech. THAT was a warm suit. I was surprised to see the quote fail from you. It can be tricky and frustrating. I find that just being on the keyboard typing out replies therapeutic! Keeps the synapsis' movin'!

Thanks Cook for helping me keep up the stoke. Very nice vid with great chill tunes.
Well that's nice to hear. Thanx. I'm trying to keep the stoke alive. Hope France is good to you in the coming year! One day! 8) Do you have a SS? I seem to recall you are GoPro only. Mine died last go out! 5 year old Session5. It went down swingin' though! I liked your thoughts on winter surfing. We coldies are definitely a notch or two above the warmies while gathering the stoke! That feeling of accomplishment always equated to me assessing the conditions and rising to the challenge within the parameters of my abilities. There's always that feeling of wonderment of the outcome on the big days.

Nice video SC!  Amazing how LBI floods.  Kudos to you for getting out on the 16th, I surfed yesterday it was much smaller but perfect conditions!  Regarding winter surfing in NJ, popular breaks get crowded and I’ve made trips to NY beaches over the years after a Nor’easter during a weekday and I avoid the known spots due to crowds.
Yea, LBI is def flood zone. Challenging drive for me most nor'easters to get to the south end for cleaner conditions. Thanx on the kudos. It was definitely Code Red out there. Pretty much had butterflies in my stomach the entire day with anticipation. Right up until my last wave to the beach near right after sunset! Good ya got the leftovers. I passed on em here. Ya ever want a shot gun rider for a NY trip PM me! I'd be stoked. Been a while since I did a trip there. 2016 I think for Hurricane Juaquin. THAT was a stoker!

Awesome video, love those tunes.
Thanx, Perouse! Cool name! I took the time to check it out. Looks like a nice place.

But that would require a lot of development for a very small market--people like Surfercook who are willing to surf in New Jersey in the winter. There might be as many as fifty of those. We're probably stuck with hot showers afterward or jumping in the water to recover from cooking our
asses off. Or running off to Maui as soon as the first cold rain falls.

Yo Pono! I'm guessing there are more than 50 winter surfers here in NJ. I know a Pro surf coach that runs a flourishing year round clientele base. I'll ask him what he thinks. I'm guessing 10,000? Curious if you watched my video? Funny you mention hot showers after surfing the cold. I only just turned off my outside showers for the winter. Luckily I'm only two blocks from my break so no driving in my suit.
