Gear Talk / Ke Nalu hot glue dry time?« on: March 08, 2014, 01:16:30 PM »
Guys-
I tried searching both the ke nalu site and the forum but can't find a definitive answer on what the 'wait' time is after you assemble the paddle with the hot glue. Want to do an adjustment tomorrow AM before a surf- would 2 hrs be enough for it to properly set and hit the water? (Paddle isnt at my house- or else I wouldnt have such a small window to do it) Thanks! 693

I just moved back east 24 months ago- and yes SF rents went bonkers again.
I lived in the Outer Richmond- 2 min to surf Ocean beach... Also check out the Sunset district as said above- there are still some bargains out there if you look hard enough. Note: even though the Fin district is 3 miles from Outer Richmond / Sunset- even the express bus can take up to 45 min to get downtown. I did the commute from 30th and California on the 1ax or the 38ax bus and still was a decent commute. Oddly enough living out there, while maybe an extra 10 min- you always get a seat- which is really needed. 30 min standing vs/ 40 sitting- winner is 40 sitting for me.. 694

my wife has it and it she spends most of the time tapping it to get it to work.
she enjoys the 'idea' of it- but at least her version seems to have a lot of bugs. 695

I have the inno- have had 2 10'10's up there with the racks only 31'in apart (car roof dictates that)
its solid as a rock...and it doesnt look silly like the Thule (personal opinion of those two big U things on a roof) Plus the Inno adusts in seconds to hold my smaller boards or my prone boards 698

you'll be able to surf the skimboard break at Chrissy field with that size 1/2 a mile inside of Ft Point.

its crazy to think of Scituate and Marshfield being 'crowded'
I used to live and surf in the are a little over a decade ago and i dont think anyone even knew there was surf there.....(which was great) the same 3 dozen guys surfed Nantasket down to M-field and coming from NJ - it was always crazy to me how few kids there in the water. Just strange to see only old dudes surfing. Talking to some friends still there supposedly ALOT has changed- but glad to see when it gets hit right it still gets epic waves. great post! 700
SUP General / Re: ISLE Sup Boards??« on: January 08, 2014, 07:46:18 PM »
+1
I have two Isle boards (one currently for sale) and I love it. for the price they cant be beat for goofing off and flatwater Mines been incredibly durable for the weight.- great all arounder- only selling to fund the recent surf specific board i bought- (plus i still have my wifes I can ride whenever i want) its not a 3k carbon board- but its certainly much more capable than the stud in the sporting goods stores or even low end surf shops 701
Sessions / Re: drone over Ocean Beach (San Fran)« on: January 05, 2014, 04:46:16 PM »
I lived 3 blocks off OBSF for 4 years and prone surfed it regularly. There are 90 cool people in the water to that one 'drone hater' (except at Kellys - those in the know, know)
If its OH+ at OB and you have anything to focus on besides getting mauled by a set on the outside i salute you. 702

i paid up for the inno board locker. I got it for 160 on sale @ amazon
Lockable- which is a plus (granted a pair of wire clippers makes them vunerable- but its more of a deterrent than anything) I surf before and after work- so sometimes my board will be on the car for extended periods during the day.- this was the best option I have transported two 10'10s from NJ to Cape Cod with no issues and no movement. http://www.rei.com/product/862368/inno-surf/sup/kayak/canoe-locker-rooftop-carrier,-black?preferredSku=8623680001&cm_mmc=cse_PLA-_-pla-_-product-_-8623680001&mr:trackingCode=741E41DE-96E5-E211-A755-BC305BF82162&mr:referralID=NA&mr:device=c&mr:adType=pla&mr:ad=36518376280&mr:keyword=&mr:match=&mr:filter=39033463960&msid=pbAjpsBs_dc|pcrid|36518376280|&{copy:s_kwcid} 704

Fantastic pictures!
I did a flat water in Centerville this summer where my wifes family has a house- and got some good waves out at Nauset. Keep those epics coming until I can get back! |
