Random / AVALANCHE WOLVERINE PEAK!!!!

I set this avalanche off yesterday. You can see my tracks coming off skiers left as I was able to ski off of the slab. Scary stuff. My friend had already skied the slope and was positioned below and barely got out of the way. Reminds me of a time years ago when myself, River(Dan G.), and friends set off a pre-season slide on Eddie's High at Alta, Utah. Dan's dad was skiing nearby and saw the slide. Later that evening he told us how these idiots set off this slide. We never fessed up. Amazing we made it through adolescence living in the Wasatch Mountains. Just wanted to share my version of Riding Giants with all the great coverage of big wave SUP I've been reading about on this site. Glad I can still bug you guys for advice!!!

Last summer I paddled my flat-water Richmond 18'6" x 25.5" carbon SUP to a top speed of 11.7 kmh/7.2 mph. in perfectly glassy conditions with no wind. It was an all out effort and very short lived. This was on a fresh-water, man-made lake in SLC, Ut. I always paddle with my Locosys GT-31 GPS and have been very interested in SUP top speeds. As soon as it thaws out I'll give it another go. I am 6'2" and 235 lbs.

Wondering if anyone has an opinion on race board dimensions for a 110 lb. beauty who is very fit? I am guessing 12'6" x 26" or so? For flat water. Thx!!

The board is a C4 Waterman. I live in Utah. It is in excellent condition and has been paddled probably ten times. I would sell it for $800. Tried to reply to your PM but it wont send for some reason. Thanks

Hi Jim-
I weigh 240 lbs. and have the 11 ft. Uli. I think you need something bigger for your size. It works fine for me but needs to be pumped very hard(12-15 psi). It's a pain in the ass and the performance would be poor for surfing IMO. I think you would be happier on the soft-top you've been riding.  Maybe one of the other inflatable brands are bigger? Not sure. I would consider selling it if you are still interested. Hope this helps.

Awesome looking board Corran. Can you give us the dimensions of this board please? I remember talking to you at the OR show in SLC and you said the board will be 10.6x32x5. Are these the current dimensions? You also said you will produce these boards when you sell enough of the 12's that you have already produced? Can you elaborate on this for us? It is obvious that whitewater boards need to be shorter, way wider, and thicker as rail to rail response is a non-issue(except for standing waves) compared to the need for very stable boards for very turbulent water. thx!!

Thanks for the responses. The board is around 5 inches thick. I believe it will have a flatter bottom with the wide point aft. Can't wait to get it.
