I think i'd rather see a hot chick deftly weilding a sharp weapon while standing in front of a mackin' wave...

Axe,
   Best wishes...
Did pray for you at the Nauset bowl today.....it was good....a good omen for you
see you soon!

Axe,
I think it's the season.....the fish are in, Sat nite in the fog, the seals were hitting schoolie bass basically under my board....glitter from scales everywhere, and not far off the beach.
Plus, babies are on their way....
There is a monster bull who hangs out at our  Sup-er bowl at Nauset.....he comes close, doesn't seem as friendly, and has zoomed me a few times....hope he doesn't think i'm his girlfriend!

As far as re-bound, always worse closer to high tide....i don't find it as much fun as you unless it hollows out the drop, or makes a hop

Lobsterman 2 years ago showed me an picture of an old one with a 50 caliber shell grown into his claw..

Sam,
on Cape Cod we see choke ducks in the fall just sitting in the waves.
Not outside, but in kai po'i
alotta Buffleheads.... but saw a mallard too... thought he was gonna die on a head high day, just stroking for the shoulder, and he didn't make it......swear he went over the falls, but came up rosey....guess that's where duck diving comes from.

we are in a migratory path, and i think they just rest in the waves as the safest place to be?
foxes/hawks get em on land, and who knows (....i don't want to) what eats em outside.

As for seals, they're everywhere...they just stick their heads up like honu, but they stare at you, and somebody got me into the game of staring em down.....kind of gets weird for both of us after maybe 10 fifteen seconds...only problem is seals are good eating for the landlord....population soaring here, fishermen don't like too much either

Best weird thing happened to me in the lineup was sitting outside with one big local boy...30 guys inside.....water boils next to us,  and somebody inside yells "FIN!" and the big guy next to me bails ....everybody inside sees the hawaiian guy leaving, and idiot haole staying so they all go bolt.  It was only manta rays making love or something, but i got 1/2 hour of solid solo time.  I was sure the brudda saw it was rays,  and i saw him a week later, asked him why he left.  It was his aumakua and he didn't want to mess.....i thanked him profusely!

« on: June 14, 2009, 05:29:13 PM »
the shaft extends thru the handle to the top glass (at top maybe 1/8 inch)
kailoa recommends cutting the shaft with tile saw not hacksaw to avoid splintering

i agree you can heat it, but shaft ring remaining in handle foam pretty thin, and you should be able to dig out and repoxy with filler

Wow!  that was off the hook!.....love the exhausted splash right at the end.

Looks like the extra board keeps it fast and makes some serious connections.

I was guessing that you were close to our Marines....secrecy of course being in the national interest

I did it to a munoz 11 softop

Boardlady.com great resource

Similar box issue:
http://www.boardlady.com/jppowerbox.htm

Point is, build up the mastrack with divinycell  ( i used 1/2" all around)

tape over the track so you don't poxy it

then route to fit the bigger box....

bottom dept should be 1/8" shorter than the box so you can sand down
i used sharp chisel on the EPS to get the depth just right

then poxy in with plenty o microballoons.

if you dont reinforce with the divinycell, you'll rip the box right out

so, i've been trying a few things to get as tight to the pocket as possible.

One is to come in under the peak, cause that lets me powerstroke frontside hard,
(switching for me goof to standard easy)....but that just seems like a lame excuse for my pivot turns which suck.

It seems like you can pivot turn into a drop with one sweep if you time it right.

Preferences of the above and any tips appreciated
