Gear Talk / Re: Which SUP to buy?

Try www.supatx.com they have great prices and awesome boards and ship free. I have a 11' lakerider and I surf with it and flat paddle. I'm 206lbs and floats me great but im a experienced surfer. My chick is 120lbs and she can paddle ocean or flat and it tracks and is not to much for her to handle. Good luck finding your new board and welcome to a great sport and lifestyle.  :)

Those look good!  Are they durable?  Any problems with foam top?  I'll probably be doing a lot of lake paddling...does the 11' track and glide really well, or do you think the 12' would be better?  Thanks!

I looked at the Scouts, too.  For the Surftechs, are there any particular problems inherent with softops?
In the long run, is it best to go with a longer or shorter board?

What do you think would be a good length for lakes?  Possibly choppy lakes?

Thanks!  The Traverse is definitely not expensive, and it got decent reviews.  How do you think a 9.5 ft Surftech would do on lakes?
The Laird looks great---but expensive!  I'll check out the Naish.
Any other ideas?

I'm a total newbie to the SUP.  I've only been on a Versa Board.  There are so many SUPS out there---please give advice to point me in the right direction.  I want to paddle lakes, mild rivers, and calm seas and bays.  Inexpensive is good, but give me all the ideas you have!  I weigh 150 lbs.  Thanks!
