I was out for the first time on my Sling Wing today. No foil, using my 9’5 JL Striker with a 10” noserider fin. No way was I staying upwind in less than 10kts. Could be my less than stellar technique.

Plan is to get decent with the Wing, and then give this foiling thing a try, and then put the two of them together.

I did the paddle of shame back upwind. Been a very longtime since I had to do that. Learning a new sport at 50 is fun. LOL

Out of curiosity, what's the water temp mid summer and now?

Thanks, warmest I've seen it is 16C (60F), right now it's around 12-13C (53F). Doesn't really get cold until January. Feb-Mar it's 2-4C. (36C)

We have a couple of nice little breaks around here. It's pretty fickle at times, but the bonus is no crowds. A busy day here may see 10 people out. Most times during the week, it's myself and my buddy Joe.

Saint John is a heavy industry city. Situated on the shores of the Bay of Fundy (home to the world's highest tides, 26ft in the city), it has Canada's largest oil refinery, a pulp and paper mill, LNG terminal, etc, etc. The waters around here have never been known for their cleanliness.

One of my favourite bands, the Foo Fighters just released a new album called Concrete and Gold. As soon as I had heard the song "Dirty Water" I thought that this would be a good tribute song to surfing in The Port City. So after spending a couple of days editing through the last year of video, I came up with this..........

Some killer photos kids, glad everyone is scoring on the east coast. We are still getting some swell in New Brunswick. Overhead again yesterday. Luckily the wind hasn't been too fierce either.

I'm back at work, but the gang is still scoring in Saint John.
