Contemplating taking off Thursday but reality is I would be lucky to pick up scraps on Saturday morning. If there is any. I guess the swell gods take the weekends off too.
Only 7-8 more years left and every day will be Saturday!

Makes me realize the bad life choices I have made being a teacher and marring a teacher I sort of looked like that with my 14 sticking out of the back of my jeep before I put a rack on. I haven't had the balls to strap it to the top of my wife's Nissan Versa though.

I see they have a 6m. Seems like that would be a great size.

I am all for these new vehicles. The price up front seems steep and is always what the haters say. But there are plenty of Ford Raptors driving around the streets of Eastern NC.
For those of you with experience or maybe know the data, what kind of issues/repairs do these vehicles have. The more the technology the less the average guy can work on them. Part of the reason I wanted my 2006 jeep is that I can pretty much fix or replace anything in it on the side of a road if I needed to. The more computers and stuff in these vehicles scare me from a repair perspective.

Zoo,
I probably won't be able to start the wing thing until next year but I am all over it because I live in NC. I'll be able to get out on the water when I wouldn't usually.

Just had three good mornings in Emerald Isle. By good I mean not a blown out washing machine and some whopping knee high waves. It's been a mess for a few years for me in EI. So much more wind than I remember a few years ago. I'm very excited about this wing thing so I can at least use the wind to my advantage and get on the water. Been on the fence about learning to kite. Plus I think the old lady would loose her shit over buying a whole other set of gear. At least with the wing stuff it looks sort of the same

I saw this vid and then started looking for part 2 etc. Then I realized he just put that one up and I would have to wait. Good stuff for sure.

Two weekends ago I was enjoying the waves that Jose was bringing into NC. Some of the biggest and clean we have had in years. Waves were breading far out. Snap. Leash fail. I had a very long swim in. It has happened before and I never thought much of it. This one was a little different. I almost could not have made this one.
After looking on here I ordered the Pro Motion pull over Kite vest. Very slim and small but gives all the float you need. Used it this past weekend in the big waves. It is not an impact vest but is great for minimal size and swimming. Seems like good quality and can go under a wetsuit. Would solve the float problem. It does cover the breast bone but does not offer any foam over the ribs. For my needs it seems to work great.
I have taken a hit to the head and received stitches but I am still on the fence about a helmet.

Not to make things sound worse but it is closer to 7 hours from Hatteras. About 3 1/2 from Wilmington. I say move to Wilmington and drive to Charlotte to see the fam. Or get a divorce.

My first sup was a hollow wood board. You make an internal frame and cut thin strips to lay over the frame. I used cedar. If I had to do over again I would go the route you are taking. Will be much faster and easier. I would take the advise above and drill your corners for each box you are going to cut out and this use a jig saw. Think it would be quicker.
Please post a thread when you do. Sup and woodworking are two of my favorite things.

Any specs on rider size and board size? Those waves look pretty standard at my break. This gives me hope
