Foil SUP / Re: Foil bag?

Heard this from Dave Kalama so intend buying one myself for travelling. Body board bags are good size for foils. There are even ones with wheels;

I am 200 lbs (92kg) and its fine for me but I like to ride the smallest board I can.

only one, didn't make this one but had fun trying!

Great board hey. I do muck around on smaller days with smaller rears but I think the GXQ are really the right fins, still loose but give the board drive. Looking forward to hear how you find them adam.

5
try keeping the 4.7 fronts and put fcs G-XQ rears.

6
Bit of a bummer, just bought a new one.

7
I have tested this board a lot and I think because of the wide tail, it has way more drive off the bottom as a quad. I only set up as a thruster in small stuff only.

8
Does that mean the 2014 17.4 is the same as the previous Thailand production board? Ta

So it looks like the index is neutral with a prediction of La Nina over the next months so the stronger trade winds should return with this pattern. From what I can work out it can be look at as;

El Nino - weakest trade winds

index neutral - slightly weaker than normal trade winds

La Nina - good trade winds

Sorry if I am putting up info that people already know.

Pretty sure I read once that the pacific trade winds are strongly linked to the S0I index and this holds true with windsurfing trips I have made to HI. If in an Elnio pattern, the trade winds are weaker etc.

A bit of reading but.

howdy, the ace 27 in carbon is resonably light, especially when you take in account the volume, but will not take abuse, it must be well looked after. The ast however is fairly durable but not light. So I guess it depends on how you are going to use it will decide which construction is best.

Ace 27 fair bit quicker than coast runner. top board.

Only think that would annoy me is changing out the batteries in the speed puck. Be much better with an inbuilt battery and just plug in to recharge. If it had that, it be perfect and I would shell out 300 myself.

1paddle2paddle, I am glad you found the same result, for a minuite I was womdering what was going on. So far I am convinced the stock fin is the best I have tried and a pretty good match for the ace shape.

Takeo, the brushed carbon has the paint sanded off to reduce overall weight. A fair bit of paint would be required to fully cover a board so there is kilos saved sanding the paint this way, you should try not to leave it in the sun. Be suprised if the pin hole allows water all the way into the styrofoam as there is a pvc skin in between, but if your not sure, dry it out and put some epoxy resin on it. Sure it hasnt taken a knock? Strange if its soft unless it has been soaking up water for a while??? With the layer of hard foam, this is pretty unusual???
