Bought new and used probably ~10 times.

One crash that burst the leading edge, but actually made the kite better: Beautiful repair by world class sail maker AND upgraded bladders and single point inflation system that makes deflating the wing WAY more efficient than the original (which was brutal... 5+ minutes of lying on top of the thing to get the air out of the center strut). Also had him add velcro and a leash loop to the outside of the repair, so you can easily mount a go-pro on the wing tip.

Comes with bag and wrist leash. Located in Boston, but will ship at buyers expense.

If you put an impact vest of PFD over your dry suit it helps control the baggy factor, protects some key impact spots from possible tears, and will help keep you floating if all goes to hell. I have not used mine much of late, as I favor wetsuits in waves (that video is comforting though) but for winging I expect I will go back to the drysuit. The easy on/off is big, and when you get it off you are dry. They shed water easily, so if you are close to home you can just towel off and drive home in it without soaking your seat vs. stripping down in a freezing parking lot.

100% on bright color. If I get separated from my gear and blown off shore I want to make the task of finding me as easy as possible.

Went to get a Gath and zero availability. Out of curiosity I ordered a Pro Tech knock off from Amazon (bright green) and it actually fits really well, is light, and seems to offer great coverage and protection, so going to give it a shot.

Accidentally wore impact vest surfing over the weekend (wind dropped, so packed my wing gear and drove over to ocean side in my wetsuit and forgot to take off my impact vest before heading out with surf SUP) and one down side: it makes your core really hot if you are up on a SUP and don't flush with water much.

I went no helmet for a while, but have gone back. Not so much because of concern about head impacts, but because it allows me NOT to worry about head impacts. On winging falls I can just hold onto the wing and let it pull me as far from the board as possible and with a helmet and impact vest I'm not worried about hitting the water hard, so I can stay focused on not destroying my gear. Surf foiling (SUP) I have been doing just wetsuit, but it probably makes almost more sense there to do vest and helmet as you are more likely to find your board with your head/body.

My search for the ultimate helmet continues. I have not bit the bullet on a Gath, but based on comments above I think I will give it a try. The new Simba helmets look very cool... unfortunately a little too cool for my skill level, so I don't think I can pull it off. The Pro Tech Ace is a reliable go to, and light, but does not fit my head right. I think my current helmet is NP - comfortable, but a little big and could be lighter. Have tried a swath of kayaking and other water helmets, and they are all WAY too heavy.

Thanks for sharing Sam. I impulse bought a Gong 9, and it showed up today... the things is a MONSTER. I'm excited to give it a go. Not that useful this time of year, but summer in New England is almost dead when it comes to wind, so hoping it will let me squeak out a few days during the dry times.
