Mike - the Kahala Hotel has great wind almost every day in the summer. Summer brings bigger waves to South Shore, if too big go to North Shore. It's a super fun little break. You can wing out front, they even do lessons on the inside. Advanced riding you have to navigate the reef but once out your good to go. Hit me up for specifics on how to get out and i can point you in the right direction. There is a thermal that works there almost daily. The Kahala Hotel &... https://www.kahalaresort.com

The Unit is an incredibly powerful wing. Newer generation wings hopefully have more power, better low and top end but you know from windsurfing and kiting that newer doesn't necessarily mean better. Plenty of next generation sails and kites have turned out to be dogs compared to the previous generation. R&D gone bad. Still waiting for a review comparing the Slick to the Echo and Unit. Hopefully the draft is moved a touch aft IMO. The unboxing videos of the Slick are a good look at this exciting wing though. Dwight- Hundred bucks says you will have a quiver of Slicks as soon as they come out and you will drop those heavy Ensis wings like a hot potato. Your poor wife's arms!! She must be pissed....jk. Everyone get ready for half price Ensis wings on The Zone.
Nope. The next generation Ensis wings ship to me May 15th. A full quiver.

Used only a few times. Got a small nose ding while bringing it home from HI. Otherwise board is in amazing shape. HB, CA. Bought for my son after his custom board got stolen while on vacation. He never liked this one due to volume difference.
Comes with bag, deck pad, fins.

is this the best time of year to go? How crowded was it?
Not very crowded....also great kitesurfing BTW CLIMATE The cooler dry season is from April through October and the warm, wetter and more humid season is from November to March. Air temperatures range from the mid 70’s to mid 80’s year round, with water temperatures hovering in the same range, year around Fiji does receive rain year round but the wet season also corresponds with the South Pacific cyclone Season. Although it is rare to have a cyclone impact Fiji directly in any given year, it can happen, and does typically every 5+ years for a short period (3-5 days) of very intense and very bad weather. The Fiji islands also have dry and wet sides similar to Hawaii; drier on the west and south, much more rain on the east and north. The properties WaterWays has relationships with are all located on the southwest or southern end of the island chain. WIND As with most of the South Pacific, the seasonal “trade” winds blow from the southeast across the Fiji Islands June through September. These winds can blow relatively strong for 5-10 days at a time, and then often back down for a week before continuing the on and off cycle. These trade winds may not be favorable at many breaks, but each location with which we work has some “fall back” plan in the event of unfavorable conditions. During the wet season winds blow from the north, which is offshore for most breaks along the south coast. The shoulder months of March through May and October through early November receive light and variable winds producing many glassy days. SWELL The south swell window is generally from March through November while North swells are biggest and most consistent from December through February. South Pacific does receive southern hemisphere swells year around and it is very rare for Fiji to receive a north ground swell out of season. To sum it up: If you’re looking for the biggest surf, March through November is the go. Surfers looking for the cleanest conditions and the least crowded time of the year should visit during wet season from December through February. Many people prefer to travel during shoulder months of March, April, May and September, October, November, hoping to get glassy conditions with early or late south swells.

You will never be the same after going there! I go every year. Bring a smaller kite, like a 9m and your 12m. It can get really windy. You can pick whatever wave spot you like depending on the swell. Namotu Lefts is very forgiving...very long left goofy footer dream wave. If it's smaller then you can venture to Cloudbreak. The winds pick up almost every day around 1:00pm, so surf all morning and kite the evening. Paradise! I kited Cloudy's last year it was insane! Start training now. I made the mistake of not hard core training and by day three i was shot. I then learned to do 2-3 hour stints so I Wouldn't fry my body. Stretch in-between, do Yoga and get a massage every day if you can. That's the only way i can stay on the water 8-10 hours a day for a week.
Dont forget to send us pics:)

Well my doctor didn't believe me I had something in my foot but reluctantly cut me open anyway. Made a big hole in my foot and said it must have fallen out, there is nothing in there. I felt kind of stupid but it still hurt like hell.
Then 2 days later after I get out of the water look what was sticking out of my foot.
