Downwind and Racing / Re: 12'6 windsurf raceboards vs. 12'6 race sups?

I've paddled around quite a bit on old windsurfers, if you find one with a big daggerboard (giant middle fin) that will help a lot to keep it under control!

Great looking board!  I saw one of these boards on my local craigslist, but it was an inflatable model. I had to wonder if 'Pop' was the best name to go with.

I'll just report that i have had some great success with this method doing small ding repair in my windsurf boards and sups. i tape a little plastic over the ding to when the GG tries to expand it pushes back into the board a bit. cheap, simple, seems to work just fine.

I vote 'keep' but suggest renaming to 'Strong Empowered Women on SUP'

Bravo!  :D :D

Gorilla brand does make a super tough and very sticky clear tape, kinda like packing tape on steroids. i've used it for monofilm sail repair and temporary board patches with no problems.

I'm a little disappointed the Naish crew didn't resurrect last years Penetrator board for the foil video, seeing that thing hovering along would have been spectacular.

if your garage is drywalled you might be able to gain 4-5" on each side by making a little cut-out.  :)  if you do it right it might even form a rack?!

if you do a search there was an old thread specifically on sup's and tacomas.

in the bed i'd try some carpet or a couple pool noodles down for padding. load board in tail first, fin up. tailgate down. use the leash attachment to keep them from sliding out then a strap or rope around the board at the tailgate gap to hold it down and keep from sliding around.  you can probably anchor to the bumper that way.  that's still a lot of board sticking out the back though.  i carry a 14' board on my tacoma but i use a roof rack over the cab. you could also do this cheaply short-term with a little padding and strap through your windows.

nobody mentioned this yet but it really helps to find a big guy and tuck in behind him.   :)

love it! board seems to turn fine without throwing out the stabilizer.  i hate seeing someone stabbing away at a poor wave like they need to check how deep it is.  imo  ;D

that sequence at 3:00 where he braces and pivots from backside to frontside is pretty smooth, im going to think about trying that!
