I definitely could see them coming up with an 810 or smaller cousin to the 910 HA /glide series... think that would definitely have a place surfing and winging.

How about a 810/710/610 or 800/700/600 to complete a high speed series for winging and windsurf foiling?

I am on Axis. Donīt have the Fanatic  Aero HA  ridden yet but at least their have a don't confusing clear program, 3 fronwings paired with  fitting stabs, 2 fuselages lenghts, 2 mast lenghts, all stabs trimmable with (delivered?) shims. This saves you at least 3-4  blind bought Axis rearwings to find the right one.
Good deal from Axis to sell lots of rearwings instead of giving away cheap plastic shims.

Have a good recovery Dave.

Maybe one or the other old windsurfer guy will remember the yellow fingerless gloves from the 80s 90s. Craig Masonville from HighTech Maui and many other windsurf cracks have always worn them. I think they were called Triump gloves or so and  were made in Indiana if I remember correctly. Made from some cheap textile fabric with a yellow rubber like coating. In any case, these were the best gloves ever for windsurfing even with a sandy boom. They had a great grip and always protected my hands and fingers from calluses and any wear and tear for a long time.I wish they still exist.

what is your boom recycled from -- I don't recognize it?

It is not my boom by the way, I am just a tourist. It is the half of a old windsurfing boom.

Today I learned another tail wing lesson.

My 2100 sq cm Moses has been slippery and fast for me, yet I know two other people who own them, and describe it is a beast.

Turns out it is the TAIL wing causing these radically different opinions.

Just as the Axis 390 tail changed your life. The big Moses with the 483 tail versus the 450 tail, is a night and day different package.

I took side by side photos of them. They look identical in area, but are radically different in how they affect the whole package. SHOCKING. The 483 gives the package the speed of the Axis 900, while the 450 makes it act the Axis 102. Twilight zone shit happening right there. 4-5 mph faster every reach with the 483 tail.

Hi DW, do you have a idea of the possibility to install a 19mm Axis mast on the Moses Fuselage without too much effort?

Taken from the kite forum thread on the same subject.

A good idea to recycle ripped windsurfing sails.

Bill, I don't think that limits your creativity  ;)

I love it that Greg is so reductionist with his designs.  He really hit on a few elements that will hopefully inspire others to follow (at least with some models).  Two oversized, stiff or fully rigid handles.  Manageable wingspan.  Inflation system that allows a very stiff leading edge and strut without the fiddly tube.  You really have to feel these to appreciate the stiffness difference.  It is surprising and remarkable.

I love the Swings but this looks like an upgrade in the 4, 3 and 2.2.  The 5.0 and 6 look odd to me.  Not sure about those.  It would be great to see those ones in use in some future BRM videos.

Admin, if the transfer hose is closed with the clamp
you can ride the leading edge and the strut with different pressure, even if you ride the same pressure with a closed hose, the LE and the Strut don`t loose pressure if under dynamic load what leads to a stiffer frame.

On closer looking in to the Axis frontwing data, there is no way the "Actuel" named 3D surface  value include the whole foil surface ( volumen). It seems the measurement means only the surface of the suction side (upper curvy side) of the foil. The new HA Axis wings 1150 and 910 have a actuel surface approx.~ 4% more as the projected.
Not sure this is also for the Moses 1100 relevant which is more a medium HA.

Disclaimer: provided the Axis information is correct. ;)

They all measure the same way. With "Actual and Projected in cm2"  the description  is clear and shouldnt give  room for misinterpretation.
The projected 2D surface gives a indication for the application. The 3D surface (Volumen) gives the indication of the profile characteristic. High value= thicker, slower, Low value= thinner, faster.

Hey Dave, will the original Duotone booms work with the new Echo wings or do you have to buy the new booms too?
Are the new booms shorter thus make it easier to pack ?

Thanks
Don

Only the 6&7 m2 Echo needs the new 2020 longer boom (141-201 cm).
The shorter one (115-175 cm) fits on all DT Wings 5/4/3.3/3.0 etc.  m2.

It is the "one fits for all" politic of the plastic boom end, used for different Leading Edge Diameters with  prehaps accepted disadvantages. Furthermore I think the Designers never expected to have to make a 6 or 7 m2 wing. ;)

Lazz, if you are wondering what size mast to use I found the 90 cm to be way better than the 61 cm.

I tried the 61 cm when wind foiling and I kept rising to the top and losing control. When I changed to the 90 cm all those issues went away. It was like riding a whole different foil.

I have kept the 90 cm for Wing Foiling too and so far so good.

I have considered the 75 cm as an option because the 90 cm is more difficult for me to carry on land.

The further out the wing the heavier it gets, plus at 5' 10" tall with a fairly wide board I can't grab the bottom of the fuselage and the hand carrying thing on the board at the same time. I have come up with some alternative ways to carry it.

I wish the manufacturer would consider carrying the board and foil with a long mast at the same time and put another hand handle on the top edge of the board. I can't see it changing the performance at all and it would be so much easier to get out of the water in shore break with a handle there.

Thanks,
I think on long term the 75cm mast should be the go for me, I consider even a 45cm because the shallow spots we have here.
Do you have a Tuttle box or a Twin? Canīt  trim your foil? or shimming your stab for less frontlift?

DW, on which mast length do you ride in this vid?
