I'm also looking at a pau hana big ez. My bay is often choppy. I'd like to use this in the bay as well as the ocean but can live without surfing

Thank you. I wasn’t planning on surfing with this board as I am also looking to get a cheap longboard to surf in the ocean. This would be strictly to cruise around the bay.

Thank you both for the quick reply! It’s Jamaica bay which be like glass or have significant chop depending on the wind. The current can also rip besides of the  incoming and out going tides.

 There really isn’t a hell of a lot of used inventory around me and I wouldn’t be able to drive the board back from anywhere. Luckily I live within walking distance of the water.

Would not be looking into racing at all at this point. More just to get out there and paddle.

I’m looking to buy my first board and am trying to decide between a Naish Nalu 10’10 or 10’6

Looking for an “all around” board

I’m 5’8” 155 lbs. I will be using it in the bay (NYC) which is pretty choppy, strong current and (unfortunately) a lot of ferry traffic. Any thoughts? Should I look at any other brands?
