I have two BLine's. I was going to get a RNB as a winter board but a used BLine was offered to me for a deal I couldn't resist. The dim'd aren't exactly what I wanted but will work with a 5/4 on.
I'm very curious to try the RNB and the PHX v3. Hey @Surfafrica aren't you in NJ? If, so we should connect. Love Infinity's shapes and progression. Dave is great to work with. Oh and my smaller BLine is the the fastest, most fun board I have ever ridden. 3

Thanks for all the replies!!!
I am going to have the chance to have a go on a 5'10 Plunder, 6'0 Hypto and a 6'4 Plunder at the end of the month when I visit some friends. Hopefully there will be some waves. I am looking forward to the humbling experience. For versatility, I'd get a high performance fish from Griffin, Pavel, or DK. They are good looking shapes and great shapers for sure but, not the shape I am after Hi, Not a bad idea and may be what I do in the long run but I can pick up a Hayden @ cost so it's hard to pass up that kind of deal. I am willing to put in the water time and work on my paddle strength. I only train to be a better SUP surfer and hopefully soon for when I am laying down scratching. I think a 5'10 would be ideal but then again maybe a 6'0 to have a little more foam?? No interest in having another SUP built. Love my Infinity's!!!! I feel you tho...foam will be my friend.
I've longboarded so no need to surf my SUP without a paddle. It just wasn't the feeling I want. I look forward to being able to duck dive and being closer to the wave. Mo is killing it for sure!!! Gotta root for my homeboy Gio when they compete tho. Again, I look forward to putting in the time and being humbled. Thanks for the responses. 4

Have gotten shacked on my SUP but never have made it out. lol!!! I froth when I watch video's of guys getting covered up and spit out. 5

Hey Everyone,
I have been itching to do some regular surfing. I feel as though my SUP surfing will put me in a better position to learn quicker than someone who has never ridden or read waves. That said, I have no interest in longboarding...have gone and its just not me. I want to be much more aggressive on a wave. Thus why my main SUP is a 7'8 x 26.5. I am in good shape...go to the gym 4-6 days a week 5'10 175lb 42yrs young. All that said, am I trying to bite too much off going for a shortboard?? I was thinking about a Hypto Krypto. I think a 5'10 would be ideal but then again maybe a 6'0 to have a little more foam?? For those that SUP surf and "prone" surf could you please chime in. I know most would say start with a big board and work your way down but does that apply to someone who has surfed the past 5 years in everything from knee high slop to solid 15ft peelers? Thanks! 6

Is that one package of Hexatraction? I am about to put it on a 7'8 x 26.5 BLine Infinity. I currently use wax but hoping this will be a good alternative. I don't want to pad it

Hey Everyone,
I f*^ked up and left my paddle on my roof yesterday after surfing and now I am in need of a replacement. I'm only using it for surfing so I am looking for a blade that the sq. inches stays in the 80's. (smaller the better) I was using a Starboard Medium Carbon Enduro (would be stoked to replace it with the same) oval shaft. Please let me know what you have and how much you want for it. Oh and I'm 5'10" and cut my paddle about forehead high so it doesn't need to be long. Thanks for taking a minute to read. 8
Gear Talk / Re: Going smaller - wave SUP girl« on: July 31, 2016, 07:01:01 PM »Be careful of going too small. The fun factor diminishes when you do Creates more work to balance but diminish the fun factor??? Not so sure about that... 9
Gear Talk / Re: Best SUP Surfboard???« on: February 24, 2016, 06:24:21 AM »Hi, The lengths you mentioned at your size will not surf like a shortboard at all!! If it is a dedicated surf sup then you should try going as small as you can after demoing as many as you can. You have to be ready/up for the challenge if you want a shortboard feel. I am close in dim's(5'10/165-170/40yrs young) and live in S. FL. I currently ride a 7'7 x 27" 95l as my go to board. Just moved down in size a few months ago after riding an 8'0 x 28" 96l for about 8 months. Before that I had a 8'4 x 31". It all depends on how much effort you want to put out during a session. I am not a fan of wide boards anymore. I think they feel way too sluggish on a wave. My advice would be to go as narrow as possible and keep a little length for paddle speed. Good luck in your search 10

Another good thing about Jupiter is it's only 25minutes from WPB Airport! Water temps are still in the low 70's. GL and have fun no matter where you go.

SUP General / Re: Super short board not best way to progress as surfer« on: December 29, 2014, 05:43:18 PM »Keep trying boards whenever you can. I couldn't agree more! I think trying boards really rounds out what works and what doesn't. I recently went from 133L to 96L and it is a challenge for sure but the reduction in width, length and volume when on the wave is worth the work! Going to pull trigger on a "LB" SUP soon to round out the quiver. Something in the 9-10ft range. Starboard Brushed Carbon for sure! I do agree with other posts that when learning you should learn, then step down! I started on a 10'5 and took a huge step off a steep learning curve but it was such a good deal on a great board I had too!(9'3 JP) Worth the frustration for sure. It set me up to ride a ton of boards a down the road, especially shorter and wider. That led to the desire to push the limit a bit more. Eventually ending up with the current sled. Waves and conditions do dictate what you SHOULD really be riding THAT DAY!!....some call it a quiver. Ride everything!!! Paddle hard!! Have fun! 14
Gear Talk / Re: 2015 Starboard 8-8 AirBorne Model« on: August 29, 2014, 04:05:16 PM »
It is a higher ticket but worth the fare for the ride. The brushed carbon is super bomb proof and the swing weight is incredible. I am getting the board next to the 8'8" Airborn in the video. You can see the camera pan down and show the 8'0 x 29" 111L Pro model! Yewww! Can't wait! I like that they added an inch of width and 15L.
Each to their own. Cheers! 15

The new Airborn looks killer!
