My wife is 4'11" and we are looking for a decent lightweight paddle for her. We had a single carbon fiber paddle in the past. But we are flying a lot and we need something that can break down and is of decent quality. We'd like to spend under $200.

SUP General / Bad patch on seam
« on: June 12, 2017, 04:46:16 AM »
I've got an inflatable board that has a patch that was holding up alright on the seam, then It got much worse after being pumped up a few times. I'm thinking i need to remove the patch and start over again. I used the standard glue that came in my patch kit. What chemical should I get to remove the glue and patch? Any tips for applying a patch where a few seams meet?

SUP General / inflatable sup windsurfer? Any good?
« on: June 21, 2016, 05:11:17 PM »
I don't know how to windsurf. I was thinking of teaching myself. I already sail a lot, I saw that starboard and some other companies have inflatable sup windsurfers..are they any good, does anyone here use them? I've got a 14 ft starboard inflatable now which I use and like. I was thinking a windsurfer might be a fun way to sail and explore my local waters.

Yeah I'm more confused now.  So the short answer...what kind of ding repair kit should I get?

SUP General / Starboard coast runner epoxy or fiberglass?

My wife put a little ding on her board and I wanted to order a repair kit from amazon. The kits are specific to epoxy or fiberglass boards. thought I'd check in here first for the answer. Also any recommendations for a decent kit?

Wind Powered / Thoughts on Starboard inflatable wind surfer?
« on: March 21, 2015, 04:12:38 PM »
Just saw these boards for the first time. I know they aren't going to be high performance but they seem super versatile. Go for a sail, go for a paddle all in the same day. Go sailing and exporing then if the wind dies break out a collapsible paddle and paddle home.

Gear Talk / Possible to unglue sup paddle?
« on: August 28, 2014, 02:15:04 PM »
Got a new paddle last week. Guestimated the height vs my old paddle. When I got home I realized it was a good 3" taller than my old paddle. Is there a way to unglue a paddle?

Hope that's not normal for these paddles. I just bought an Axe. How long have you had this one?

I've had it for a year. I'm pretty rough on equipment though.

Thanks for the feed back. Here are some pics. Would you guys recommend snapping the head off before I make the repair. Or repairing over the crack?

Gear Talk / Repairing carbon fiber paddle?

I've got an axe carbon fiber paddle. There is a crack forming right where the blade goes into the shaft. Is there anyway to repair this? Any products out there I should be looking at?

I asked a similar question a few months ago. You might find some helpful info here.

Gear Talk / Re: flexable skeg for exploring rivers?

What about removing the skeg completely? Will the length alone still make it track pretty straight?

Gear Talk / flexable skeg for exploring rivers?
« on: July 02, 2014, 02:18:39 PM »
Lately I've been going down a lot of rivers of my coast runner. Florida rivers have a lot of submerged logs and my skeg keeps getting caught. Has anyone seen a flexible skeg that could be installed or some other solution? A folding skeg like a spring loaded dagger board would be cool.
