With all the advancement in new V2 and V3 wings and new foil wing tech coming out for crying out loud why can’t one of these companies come out with a good simple wing and board leash harness hook waist belt combo already! I use a Axis waist belt leash modified with a Kaohi dbl coil with built in handle rail saver for my board and harness hook, but increasingly especially on windy days with waves am finding out the hard way that wing leashes on your wrist are hazardous to your shoulder so would like a good simple waist belt harness that can accommodate both,I’m Leary of just putting my wrist leash on my belt as in a big pull might peel the Velcro off but I will test it out as couple weeks ago got lucky and avoided a bad shoulder tweak by getting wing pulled in good sized waves much better to get pulled by mid torso, but then the tangle thing might increase but not a lot of alternatives just don’t want mess up my shoulder.I’ve been using this simple waist leash harness combo very successfully for close to a year now and being a longtime kiter really don’t need a kiting style harness for winging just a lightweight simple waist belt works fine for me at 225lbs no less. For me some improvements to my belt would be bit more non slip padding and kind of rail saver dbl down Velcro encloser at end of belt so it has a real tough time coming undone or un peeled Velcro which has not happened surprisingly to me but with a secondary wing leash attachment to pulls in waves will be more on my belt when adding my wing to it.Also with this style my board damage has been nill as the hook pivots very easily on belt surprisingly, but a good stout plastic or padded hook would be slick too and a good belt buckle is food for thought too.I like the Kaohi leash handle by rail saver very good (but could be a tad wider)for taking reasonable white water on the head to keep board separated from wing minimizing wing damage! Just a few thoughts  for winging leashes as the wings and foils get better by the major players there wing leashes to wrist are in the dark ages and in waves beware of shoulder issues,Keep it simple sailor👍

Foil SUP / Axis wings for supfoiling
« on: January 27, 2021, 08:17:43 PM »
I originally bought my Axis foils for winging but a few months back discovered for myself that they work very well for supfoiling too.For me being a heavier rider so far originally my fav front wing was the 820 just a great all around wing for supfoiling.Few weeks back got my hands on the 860 again primarily for winging but also found it works real good for me supfoiling too bit faster than the 820 but a lot of similar characteristics the rock solid reliable carvable wing I really like em both exceeded my expectations.this is my first session on the 860 and just like when you try a new magic surfboard and it has that magic feel right from the get go,that’s how I felt riding the 860 first time it felt so familiar like I had ridden it many times before a sure good sign for a new wing.I have not even tried it winging yet looking forward to that for sure.My fav rear is the 440 so far for supfoiling.Curious what you Axis riders are riding supfoiling out there? Think maybe the 760 might be a good choice for bigger surf but not sure never seen one in person, started this thread for the Axis supfoiler riders to see what wings masts fuse you all are wave riding as really have to separate the wings a bit for winging vs supfoiling however I’m finding that a few Axis wings work for both in my weight class 225lb.Also riding 75cm alum mast and short fuse but tinkering with pulling the trigger on a new carbon fiber mast  which look real nice but they ain’t cheap!

Curious what everyone’s using for winging foil wings below the surface, and rider weight relation.Personally I’m 225lbs dry and am using GF M200 front and Maliko rear wing but thinking about getting a M280 or GL 240 up front for lighter days with my HW class, anyone running these wings certainly like to hear reports, also any comparison size wise say to M280 to Axis or other big wing comparison area wise seems like the big wing companies all have different area dimensions calcs hard to make heads or tails on comparison overlay area wise.Im using GL210 supfoiling which I really like supfoiling maybe might try it one of these days winging too, but might be tad small for winging on lighter days, currently have a 4m but have ordered a 7m gong wing on the way for lighter days long overdue with my weight class.what you guys using?

Foil SUP / Yawing stabilizer
« on: July 04, 2018, 02:35:50 PM »
Anyone out there know of any peel stick small front stabilizer for the smaller sup foil boards were riding these days, just got 7’2” down from 8’0 and noticed paddling sure could use a little stabilizer up front on bottom to minimize paddling yawing left right action,be cool if there was a small peel stick fin that we can slap on like a kiting twin tip keel/fin we could slap on bottom.Especially for us larger riders with more volume short sup foilboards, longshot but thought I’d ask maybe something out there that I can’t find, think Dave K uses one as well on his newer foil sup boards, not really interested in popping a small future box really but might be food for thought later on, seems like smallish peel and stick keel/fin might be way to go.Thanks

Wind Powered / windy day SUP alternative
« on: April 22, 2010, 04:48:23 PM »
Well one day lately I was bored,a little to much wind for SUP for my liking,so I thought I'd go for a kite.I usually use a 6'3" thruster in the waves, but have used just about everything especially my longboards, and it dawned on me that I never tried my SUP kiting! So I grabbed my trusty 9'10" foote SUP and off I went. Then I proceeded after a little getting used to it one of my funnest kite sessions in a while on my SUP what a blast! It's not for everyone, but man I had a good time, and will definately be out on my SUP again.Heres a couple of shots of my first SUP kite experience.

On a cleaner day

Gear Talk / Naish 11' 6" Gun any reviews/reports?
« on: September 25, 2009, 06:03:38 PM »
Was interested in the naish 11"6" gun anyone try one out there? Looks like a fun board for good size surf. The only thing that I'm apprehensive about is the width and volume for my weight 225lb seems a little on the smallish side for a heavyweight? Any info would be great, thanks in advance.
