The Shape Shack / How do I remove an air vent assembly on 2012 Hobie Elite ??

I Have a 2012 Hobie Elite 14'. The air vent housing needs to be removed and re-glued. It leaks on outside of outer flange at the surface of deck.
Whats the best way to remove it? I'm assuming heating it a bit with a heat gun (carefully).
Any different ideas out there?

SUP General / If you paddle in your local harbor do you have to pay a launch fee?

Our local (in Santa Cruz. Ca) harbor is going to be enforcing an old launch fee schedule of $10 per launch. It has been free for as long as I can remember to self launch your SUP. It's creating quite a controversy around here.

Anyone out there have to pay money (or not) to paddle in your local harbor ? If so how much do you pay?

I have a Starboard Surf Race 12'6"x26.5". I currently using the stock fin and want a better all around fin for all types of ocean conditions. Anybody have the same or similar board and have some advise?

I'm looking at these 2 boards for racing and training 90% in all ocean conditions. Anyone ride both and have feedback? I'm 5'11'' & 190lbs.

I'm looking for feedback on a Epoxy Ron House 12'6" Race Board. I'm 185 and will be using it in all ocean conditions. Is it a good stable all around design?

Gear Talk / 404 Monster 12'6" vs Bark Competitor 12'6"

Looking to get a racing / training board. Has anyone out there used these 2 boards? Have any good info? I've looked at a few reviews of the 404 and a few have said the glide is lacking but can't back it up with any GPS info. So is the lack of glide a perception or reality. I'm thinking with these 2 boards it's the "Indian not the arrow". I will be using the board in all conditions.

Gear Talk / Want to get a 12'6" Race Board. Bark Competitor?

Looking to get a 12'6" race board. Currently riding a 12'6" Tahoe Zephyr. I like the Tahoe but want to get a race specific 12'6". Would my 190 lb size be ok for a Bark Competitor? Any other suggestions?
