Kite Foiling / F1 mast mounting issues« on: February 25, 2023, 08:50:23 AM »
Anyone else had issues mounting a F1 Mast (160 x90) to pocket foil boards with bolt patterns only no tracks (165 x90). I have a Kanha Shapes and recently switched to F1 and now I cant bolt mast to board....
I saw a Stringfellow adapter on Mackite but it looks heavy. F1 has a adapter for Sup boards I could probably make work but I think I would have to machine slots to board - https://www.f-one.world/product/4-point-foil-mount-adapter/ Also my Kanha has 5/16 (8mm equivalent) holes and F one is all 6mm Anyone else had this issue? 4

Wingsurfing, Windfoiling, Wingfoiling, Wing SUP / Knee pads« on: January 21, 2022, 02:09:20 PM »
This should get some attention. Any of you old farts ever bruise your knee? I think I got up on it weird maybe even on my leash. It is not painful unit I try and get up. I am looking for a knee pad to only use if this happens again. almost ruined trip. Glad it was at the end. Getting better now.
I see some products out there from Gill, Ion and burton, but figured I would ask the crew? Wingsurfing, Windfoiling, Wingfoiling, Wing SUP / Getting out in low tide rocks with shore break« on: January 02, 2022, 06:44:43 AM »
Hello
In Baja with low tides and shore break. Very intimidating. Looking for options on techniques. My friend lives here with more experience and tries a lot of different things and all seem sketchy. We both are talking about it. He started attaching his wing to the front of harness for just this, I tried and don't like it there personally as it get tangled around my arms and head The rocks make it so you cannot jump up on your board or you will high center and then a wave would kill you. Yesterday he went out and flipped his board upside down with the rear of foil in air facing out and straddled with his chest and paddled. He made it but the wing was still very close. Any tipsy or when he got off in deeper rolling water the foil was very close to wing and could have fell on it. Not to mention if a wave would have came in, it might have been messy. I am thinking of adding a temporary kite leash to the back of my harness about 3 feet long. I can clip my wrist leash blow that and use his approach of paddling on top of board with foil in the air and wing upside down behind me. With the extra leash it should stay far enough away if foil tumbles or falls it could stay clear? I have 5’4” Fanatic 95L, and Strikes that seem pretty floaty on back. A concern would be a wave breaks on wing and things go crazy, but for that to happen would have to be a monster wave and I should not be out in that. Anybody try this approach or another approach? Thanks Todd 7
Wingsurfing, Windfoiling, Wingfoiling, Wing SUP / First Sesh« on: December 30, 2020, 07:44:33 PM »
First Sesh
Not water but Ice. Stoked for a great sesh. 6.4 Slingwing v2 on tele’s on frozen lake. Wind 15 to 20mph. cloudy but clear. Ice with hard packed snow on it. First part was awkward. Then I went for it. I was all over the lake. I got the hang of the wing quick. Probably my 15+ windsurf years helped Really glad I planned a harness set up. I rode harnessed the whole time. I did come out occasionally, on purpose and felt the difference, but overall I want to ride harnessed. Good trick I read that helped is when tip starts to touch roll up from surface. Once I did that all was good. If you let tip go in surface and don’t roll out it will catch.. Now I am looking to improve harness line setup. I was using a old Slingshot depower line. I think it is spectra? I want to make a firm rigid line that will hold its shape. I have a few ideas and will update when closer. 8
Wingsurfing, Windfoiling, Wingfoiling, Wing SUP / Slingwing V2 size options« on: December 27, 2020, 12:10:01 PM »
Hello all,
New to winging. Windsurfed for 20 years. Kited for 15years. Kite foiled for 5 years. I am fairly advanced. Strapless Kanaha Shapes 37" with 92cm Moses 683s and 425 stab. I ride SS ghost 4,6,8,10. I ride inland Utah lakes mostly. I am 190lbs at 6'. We get thermal and frontal winds March to October. I also ride the Gorge a few weeks or month a year. Baja when I can get down. I decided I wanted to wing foil and started buying gear in October (to late to ride here now as it is cold). I have a few friends that helped me pick a quiver. Now I am stuck at home with gear and only one place to drive to try (Lake Mojave). I have kited there and it is an advance place. I have heard most are on small wings 2.2 to 3m. I bought 6' 120l Moon Buddy, Moses W1100, I already had 82cm mast and 450 rear stab with 710 fuse. I bought 6.4 and 4.4 Slingwing V2. Gear has long lead times so I preordered the new Moses W950 front wing to be my smaller front wing for winging. Should I get a smaller Slingwing? 3.2? I was going to wait until I tried it first to buy anymore gear but seems like I am all in after 30 years of wind riding. Not to mention I think the wing will open up more launches and wind directions that I currently cannot ride. So I want to make it work to have another tool in the arsenal. Anyways have been stalking reading forum and figured I would introduce myself and ask a question. Thanks Todd
