Looks like the waves are perfect in Nicaragua for the next week or so. I'd like to take a quick 5/6 day trip. Maybe leave as soon as Saturday. I'm looking for some recommendations for a good location, guide, rental, etc. Any quick help would be appreciated.

I'm headed to San Diego/So Cal for a week with my son's high school surf team. I'm looking for a 6 day rental on a SUP or two. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Recommended spots to surf?

Probably been asked and answered, but here goes anyway.  I'm looking to go to a SUP and surf camp. I've long boarded and I'm not a beginner. I can stand and ride, but haven't been on a short board in years and want to again. I've been SUS'ing for a couple of summers, but none in the winter and I'm good on 4'-6' waves, but sketchy after that.  I'd like to go to a camp where I can improve on both.  I'm in the NorthEast and would like to plan the trip for June. Consistent swell, access to decent SUP and surf boards, and decent accommodations. Any suggestions?

I should be getting my new MHL Custom race board in a couple of weeks. I couldn't be more stoked.  The  times I demoed an MHL board they felt super fast and efficient. 14'x26" I'll post more pics as I get them. Nick's been great to work with so far.

Gear Talk / Ke Nalu Recommendation

I'm going to buy a Ke Nalu paddle ASAP. I'd like to get some recommendations about configurations. I am currently using a Quickblade Kanaha 110 with a 40 SSI shaft. No complaints, but I'm going to sell it as part if a package and want to see if the Ke Nalu lives up to its hype. I'll be using it for racing/flat water paddling. What do those with Ke Nalus recommend? Molokai or Maliko? Xtuf or stiff? I know it's a matter of preference, but what is the consensus? I'm 6'3" 200# if that matters. Mild shoulder issues, but they haven't been bothered by the Quickblade in my current configuration.

Gear Talk / Speedpuck Mounting?

I have used my speedpuck a few dozen times on the inland waterways near my house. I have it secured on my board with the 3m dual lock and it has worked fine. Today I tried to use it in the ocean for the first time and...you guessed it--gone in the surf. There were waist high sets coming in and some whitewater took me off my board and turned it over. When I righted the board and climbed on, the speedpuck and its cradle were gone. I took a quick look around, didn't see it, and decided to go for the paddle. Paddled for a little over 90 minutes and came back to the same beach where I went out. After I laid my board in the hot sand I decided to look for the Speedpuck on the beach. A longshot, but hallelujah I found it!! Not 50 yards from where it came off, right at the high water mark, sitting in its cradle. I'd chalk it up to clean living, but I don't live that cleanly. Anyway, how can I Mount it more securely so it won't happen again?

Gear Talk / Fastest 14' Board?

Stoneaxe made the comment that the Speedboard Gulf Racer V2 was the fastest board that he's ever paddled. Got me thinking about the speed thing again. I know that there were speed tests done in 2011 that showed the Starboard Ace 14'x25" as the fastest board around. With the recent development of Speedboard, Blackbox, and Bark's new Phantom, etc. is it time for new tests? Is there a consensus as to which 14' board is the fastest. Maybe narrow the search to the fastest 14' board 25" or wider? Not too many people can handle a 23" board.

All of a sudden, a bunch of words in posts are green and double underlined on the site. A link to advertising obviously. Appears when on iPad. Is this happening to everyone or am I infected?
