Gear Talk / small crack repair on a Starboard brushed carbon
« on: April 22, 2018, 04:04:27 PM »
Hi,

I hope someone can offer their advice.  A gust of wind blew my Sprint blew off my truck rack yesterday.  It landed on the truck next to me before landing on the asphalt.  Remarkably no damage other than a 1 inch crack in the footwell.  I noticed bubbles coming out of the crack today before paddling.  Its about 1 inch long.

Can anyone give me some advice on how to seal?

Thanks
Mike

Looks like fast conditions.   The 20+ standup and prone paddlers are not scheduled to go out first this year.
Current start order has paddleboards starting after all single and doubles and before all kayaks, OCs, SK etc...
It was nice getting out first.  We'll have company the whole way this year.

Downwind and Racing / how big a difference do race boards make?
« on: July 17, 2012, 07:46:43 AM »
Hi,
I'm very new to the sport but decided to enter a 10+ mile race recently.  Loved the race, but I got blown away by all other competitors.  I assume a big portion of this is poor technique and fitness.  I'm curious how big a difference the race boards make.  I was on a Riviera 10'6" board.  At the finish line, a little kid even came up and asked how short the board was.  I love the sport and I'm not sure how crucial it is to spend the extra dollars to at least stay within eyesight of the pack.

Thanks
