Foil SUP / The first foil ban?

That I know of, how far will it spread is the question.  Watch where you foil and stay away from crowds.

This is a customized paint job by Patrick Alteri on his race board, earlier this week at a race in Spain.
Kind of P 40'ish, more people should be doing this.

These do take a bit of getting used to, but in time it should be no big deal.
A cool vid on the Halo.

Apparently the rules have changed, there no longer is a Hell, now what are we supposed to say when we get really pissed off?  Or tell somebody where to go?

Random / Hawaii's population is shrinking?
« on: January 06, 2018, 02:31:07 PM »
Apparently so, not by that much, but it is.  I've almost uprooted and moved to Maui on several occasions, mostly in the 90's, but something always stopped me.  When my parents sold their condo there, early 90's, my dad and I had a very long conservation about that, because I wanted to know why.  Many of the things he said at the time I found in this article, I found this to be a very interesting read on this subject.  Do I regret not making the move?  To this day I'm still not sure.

Random / Labrat knats

"Labrat knats", anybody got a clue?
I did a google search, and apparently I'm not the only one curious, so I did an image search and saw pics of "Labrat" only graffiti on some other stuff, so I'm thinking it might be a gang tag of some sort. Apparently it's been up there for years, painted over several times, and it keeps coming back.
What a horrible accident,,,, assuming it was an accident.

Random / The future of the NFL, is there one?
« on: September 21, 2017, 10:36:59 AM »
Empty seats are killing the NFL, I see 3 reasons, politics entering the game (taking a knee), owner's lack of taking the home fans seriously (teams moving), and concussions (CTE).  Tonight should be a great game between two former serious rivals, the LA Rams and the SF 49ers, but they are having a hard time selling tickets, you can now get them for $14 ea. at one of the most modern stadiums in the league, Levi Stadium.
Neither team is all that good, in fact not very good, but that used to not make a difference to true fans of any team, so I can't count that as being a very good reason, it's all the other stuff that's happening.  The sad part is that I think all 3 of those main reasons could be rectified, but I don't see that happening any time soon.
The whole thing is a bummer.

You can now go left at Kelly's wave pool, if you get invited that is.
He bestowed a great honor to Gerry Lopez, he gets the first wave, awesome.

Okay, watch on vimeo, no problem.

I found this pic quite awhile ago, and have been trying to figure out what it is, even though that front end looks so familiar, it had me stumped.  Then a new documentary was shown last week, "The cars that made America" on the History channel, it was awesome, watch all three parts, and with the help of that, I was finally able to figure out what this was.  It was originally designed by an eccentric, famous car designer, and helped save a brand, but they didn't make very many of this particular style.

RIP, as we all know he died from that thief of a disease Alzheimer’s which steals your brain before you're done with it.  The last two days have been filled with "Rhinestone Cowboy", okay, and "Wichita Lineman", same thing, good but not great IMO.  So I'm going to offer what I think is his greatest recording (I didn't say song because he didn't write it, John Hartford did), which shows off his voice as well as his picking.

Random / Earth's opposite side

From where you live, if you were to dig a hole to the other side of Earth from your backyard.

Among other things, it's interesting to see just how much of a majority of the land mass is in the northern hemisphere.

The yellow is the opposite side, straight thru~

You knew this had to be next, and you knew it would be Kai to show it off.  The blades are getting closer to the kids.  :o  But I kinda like it anyway.
Next, hand plane foils?

"Borrowed" from Seabreeze~

Jimmy Lewis posted this really cool message on Facebook a couple of days ago-
So, today was super windy and Kevin Davison, Jaecey Suda and I did a downwind run. We're coming up towards Baldwin and Kevin's about 30-40 yards ahead of me, as usual, when out of the corner of my eye on the left I see this yellow thing fly by. My first thought was "WHAT???? How did Jaecey catch me??" (she's got a yellow board) Then I notice that it's a foil board. I look up a little higher and it's Kai Lenny on his 5' something foil shortboard! He's looking back at me with a big smile, holding his GoPro out in front and says "Hey Jimmy!" I yell back "YEAH RIGHT ON KAI!" It was unreal to see what he was doing so close up!! But that's not the half of it! He quickly catches up to Kevin, whom he said "hi" to as well, then began to traverse in towards shore to get near Baldwin Reef. He's been up on the foil the whole time since he first passed me. I keep looking up once in a while to see where he is and he's way inside now and still up on the foil. I watched him until I couldn't see him anymore and I think he was going in at Sugar Cove because his house is near there. Not once did he come down off of the foil. EVER! I'm not sure but I'd be confident to say that he caught a glide up at Maliko and rode the foil, non stop, all the way down to his house. I guess we'll see when he posts his video (I hope he doesn't edit out my part..... ha ha ha!!). Anyway, all I can say is: UNREAL!!!

The vid~
