I was in the gorge for a couple days a few weeks ago.  Wed the 10th was a really good day, lots of wind.  I was on my 2.8m up near the hatchery (I'd upwinded from the event center) when I noticed a loose wing.  It looked like another guy had just tried to catch it but he missed.  Here's my video of me chasing it.

The leash was a waist leash that uses a plastic buckle to attach around you waist.  One of the plastic prongs had broken off.  After slowly shlogging to the shore I handed the wing to a windsurf lady who was walking her dog and had stopped because she had noticed me struggling with 2 wings and was curious what was going on.  I explained that I hadn't seen the guy who'd lost the wing, and had no idea who it belongs to.  She said she'd walk up to the main parking area at the hatchery and try to find it's owner.  Anyways I've heard a few people on here say to not trust plastic buckles, and after chasing down this runaway wing, I would concur.  With the way this thing was going, I could only imagine how much farther downwind it would have flown before being stopped!

Headed to the PNW later this week, and will be in the Hood River area next week.  I know it's been crazy hot lately, what's the water temp like in the river these days.  What kind of wetsuits are most folks wearing? Spring suits? 3/2's? little of everything?

Also anyone want to join me on a few wing sessions? downwinders?  I've get a general idea of most the spots, but would be nice to join a few of you if anyone is down. 

Hopefully there is a little more wind next week.

Anyone got any advice/recommendations for a travel bag for a wing board???  Hard to find much available online.  4'9 x 24.5"

Ideally would like to fit my wing board and a prone board in the same bag. 

If you have a travel bag, what bag is it, size, and what do you like/dislike about it?

Axis 760 and 660 front wings available, both in great shape, only used a handful of times each. $400 each or $700 for both.

I'm on Oahu, but will be in LA this Thursday/Friday (10th/11th), and north county San Diego Sat/Sun (12th/13th), and can bring with me if needed.

here's a random question I have, which hand do you put your wing leash on, and why?

I always put mine on my left wrist, don't have a good reason, except for maybe it's the downwind side when I'm walking down to the water.  Just wondering if there is a rhyme or reason for the side you choose...

I've been trying a bunch of different axis front wings while winging lately, and I'm going to start switching up the stabs too. Since there are a lot of axis riders here, (that axis thread is crazy long) I'm curious which combos you like best for winging for which conditions. (Please include your weight.)

170lbs, I've only been using the 390 stab and short fuse.
15-20+ I really enjoy the 900, and if there are waves/swell the 760.

15 or less I mostly stay on the 920, but had a lot of fun on my neighbors 1010 the other day, as well as the 1000 once I get it up on foil.

Foil SUP / Starting over

I've asked this on another forum, just wondering what everyone would choose...

Imagine you just lost all your gear. It got stolen or broke and now you need to start from scratch. What foil would you buy? Knowing what you know now, what wings are available or about to be released, what would you get? You can't get a bro deal, or cheap from a friend. You're paying full retail. What's your choice and why?
