Foil SUP / Naish foil mast waterlogging fixes?

I'm riding Naish Thrust foils and have a repeated problem where the hollow mast fills up with water during my session and gets extremely heavy.  It makes a very noticeable difference, you can really feel it when you pump or carve hard.  After the session the water stays trapped in the mast and drains out very slowly, covering everything with salt over a few days even after I rinse it.  Yes, I could disassemble and rinse everything after every session but... does anyone actually do that? Plus, that doesn't help the mid-session waterlogging.  This happens with both my 70 and my 90cm masts, and I've heard the same thing from other people so it's not just a single faulty part. 

I have been thinking about blowing the hollow mast full of waterproof foam to keep most of the water out in the first place.  Something like this:

The downside of trying this being that it will be a pain to dig out if it doesn't work or absorbs water and gets permanently heavy.  Alternatively, I could do my best to cut out a chunk of hard foam and insert it, which would help but it's a long weird shape so I probably won't be able to fill it completely. 

Any other ideas?  Other people have this problem?

Foil SUP / Foot strap placement

I’m modifying an 8’2” L41 SimSup with a Tuttle box to foil it. Does anyone know where rear foot straps should go in relationship to the Tuttle box?

When I’m foiling my prone surfboard, I like my foot right on the front bolt in waist-shoulder high surf. Not sure how that would change with a sup.

Foil SUP / 5’10” Tomo Evo Foil Surfboard

Took delivery a few weeks ago on this 5’10” 43 liter tomo evo. Javier at XTR in Oceanside scaled up the thickness, dropped the channels, and built it with a Tuttle box for my Kai foil.

After a few months paddling a much lower volume board, I wanted something with as much paddle power as could be jammed into a short package. The evo seemed like the appropriate shape to start with.

I have about a dozen days on it so far and it’s great. I can paddle into almost anything with it, but it’s so light and stubby that I can’t imagine I would gain too much by going smaller.

The other benefit of this shape is that I can always pull the foil and have a groveler to surf.

Next up is adding a Tuttle box to my 8’2” L41...
