Hello, I am interested in hearing from anyone who paddled during their chemo treatments and/or with an infusion port implanted below their collarbone. Has it been done? Any tips?
Feel free to pm me if you prefer an off-line convo.
Thanks in advance.

Just found this pin hole in the rail of my Starboard Carbon Touring board. What are your recommendations for how to repair? Things to watch out for or consider? Many thanks in advance for your help and shared knowledge.

Hello, I posted this last week over on the General Discussion thread but had no replies so re-posting here as this is primarily a flatwater issue. Hoping folks will chime in The lake I paddle in has an infestation of New Zealand Mud Snails. They are tiny and nasty. http://www.dfw.state.or.us/conservationstrategy/invasive_species/docs/NZ_Mudsnails_10-page.pdfhttp://nas.er.usgs.gov/viewer/omap.aspx?SpeciesID=1008To help prevent their further spread the board needs to be cleaned and decontaminated before going into other waters. The recommended methods include: Freezing (um, no) Scrubbing with 140 degree water (not very practical) Allowing to dry completely for 5 days (rather not wait that long between paddles) and Spraying down with Formula 409 cleaner and letting it sit for 5 minutes. Any idea if that would damage the board? How do you deal with New Zealand Mud Snails if they are a problem in the waters (many Western States and the Great Lakes in the US) you paddle? Thanks!

Hello, I just got a carbon 2014 Starboard Touring board and love it. Hi, I am starting to shop for my first board. I will be 90% on flat water lakes and rivers with occasional trips to San Francisco and Tomalas Bays. I had a chance to try a 12" 6" 404 Air and liked it. http://404sup.com/product/12-6-race-air/There is a used one for sale. I haven't been inclined toward an iSUP but am curious about the 404 as a possible 1st board and future guest board. I hear that boards are like potato chips and one is never enough. Any thoughts about the 404? How durable are they and are they prone to problems? Thanks!

I saw a comment on another thread that iSUPs were difficult to paddle going against the wind. Can folks elaborate?
I am looking forward to buying my 1st board and want to know more about the pros & cons of iSUP vs SUP. Expect to be on flat water for the foreseeable future.
Thanks!

Hi, I am new to the sport and am looking for some tips on how to find some solid basic instruction. I see that many shops also give lessons. Is there some sort of instructor certification or other criteria to use for finding good instructors?
Thanks!
