Gear Talk / 10.6 vs. 11.6 for surfing waist high waves

I currently ride a 10.6 BIC Ace-Tec Wind but was thinking of going up to a 11.6 to catch more waves easier and have a bit more stability when it is choppy. I weigh 160 lbs and my skill level is intermediate. I do realize I will lose some turning ability, but I do not do sharp turns on the wave anyway, so I thought perhaps catching more waves and falling off less is worth losing a little bit of turning ability.

Is it worth it, or will the size difference not make much of a difference for riding waves?
