Gear Talk / Lost 2 iSUP the same day
« on: August 21, 2019, 05:38:16 AM »
Last Sunday was hot and sunny. I took to the beach my 2 ISUP that I barely use recently . I first inflated my 2013 Naish  to 15psi (14 recommended). While I was inflating the second board, a Fanatic from 2014, the Naish blew up, it has a 15cm tears on the rail. I was joking about it and how lucky I was that girl who wanted to try SUP finally didn’t join when the second board also blew up. The recommended pressure is 22 but I stopped at 15psi. The Fanatic apparently had all the treads from the back of the board breaking at the same time, giving an interesting shape.

I knew there were modular kayaks but I never heard about SUP you can split in 2 (or 3?)... Apparently Sunova did it... Anybody have more info? Did any brand made some modular board before?

Downwind and Racing / Who won 2017 Nautic SUP Paris Crossing?
« on: December 03, 2017, 07:27:49 PM »
Dec 3th was held “the biggest SUP race of the world” with 700 paddlers on the Seine river...
13km through Paris and tight finish between Bruno Hasulyo and Arthur Arutkin. Organizers gave one as the winner then changed one minute after...
Casper finished 3rd.
A.Arutkin is the official winner, Susak Molinero won the women’s race for the 2nd time.

In fact I don’t really care about who win, both Arutkin and Hasulyo are great athletes, but it looks kind amateurish from the “biggest SUP
Race in the world “ .

Gear Talk / Split paddle
« on: October 06, 2017, 05:41:26 PM »
I recently saw split fins in a diving shop,

they're said to be good for long straight rides, so I wondered why I've never seen a SUP paddle with a split blade. I mean something like that :

Has anybody seen /tried it? I'm thinking of building one. Will it work?

I know Quatro has a "split paddle" but it's not a split blade

General Discussion / Your views about ISA/ worldcup going on in Denmark?

I have mixed feelings about the ISA event going on in Denmark, and I wondered what Zoners think about it? Is it a turning point in the sport's history? How much do you enjoy it?

The Shape Shack / Reshaping rails on a 12'6
« on: July 22, 2017, 05:07:06 PM »
My 12'6 NSP cocomat is getting old, some small cracks on rails, and, at 28 1/4" width, it feels slow and someway boring. I will buy a new board soon or later but before that I'm thinking of cutting 3" on rails of my NSP to make it narrower and faster(?).
I know some guys did it, but is it worth it?
I can repair dings, I did rhinoplasty on my windsurfing board but making new rails looks like a big job. Before it's too late I should seek advices.
Should I cut or not?
