Foil SUP / Gofoil 6.5 Pedestal and 14.5" Tail

Ordered the GoFoil 6.5" Pedestal and 14.5" Tail and after one session, I am so jazzed on this combo!!! 

The 14.5" Tail fills all the gaps I was looking for in a GoFoil tail--pumps like the 18N, tracks like the Maliko and carves closer to the Kai.  I was afraid that moving from the 9" to the 6.5" pedestal (GoFoil's equivalent to moving to a short fuselage) would be like learning to foil all over again but after a couple of waves to get used to it, I found that I was able to throw turns that I haven't been able to before without the added twitchiness I was expecting.  Had to adjust pump frequency and carve to stay up high on the foil but it is oh so fun... If anyone is considering this combination, to me it is a gamechanger!

Foil SUP / Twin Masts!?!?!?

So about 6 months ago we started experimenting with twin masts. Trying different configurations: from single long wings, to double wings, different size wings, different length masts to some weird contraptions which are better not shown 😜 & gotta say it's been rather interesting.

Feels somewhat like riding a bicycle compared to a unicycle, super stable so possibly great for beginners. On a wave feels way different so still rate single better in waves, but should soon have some new innovations that could potentially influence more the AIR wing / race scene, so let's see where this all goes. Either way loads of fun so let us know what ya reckon 😎🦅

SUP General / SUP in 1947 Movie

I don't think this topic came up before but I turned on the TV today and it was tuned to TCM and there was a 1947 Movie titled Good News on and a boy looked like he was paddleboarding across the screen!  Wonder if this is back when Duke Kahanamoku started doing this?

* Same system but now fully modular
* Light IWA, Light M200
* High Aspect GL 180, 210, 240
* New Tail Wings including a Straight One

Gear Talk / 2019 Starboard Pro

Was watching the webcast of the SUP Open in New York and noticed the 2019 Starboard Pro looks quite different from previous years.  One of the Starboard folks commented on the stream that it was a complete redesign. 

I thought that the shape looked like they included elements from the Hypernut which was confirmed in the following links:

Seems like the changes could make for both a more stable and sharper board.

Gear Talk / Soloshot 3 with Optic 25

The Optic 25 is being discontinued so is on clearance now for $399.  Any thoughts on whether the 25x zoom on the Optic 25 is acceptable for beach surf videos and pictures versus the 65?

Downwind and Racing / Negligent Operations... seriously!?!?

From reading the article, it seems that the paddlers were well prepared (wore life vests, leashes, dry/wetsuits, downwind boards...etc.) for the conditions until they got pulled off of the water by the Department of Natural Resources and ticketed $320 each!
