Never used ... never even opened ... PADDLE HUGGER SUP PADDLE HOLDER.  Keeps your hands free when you're on the water and want a place to dock your paddle on your board while you're doing yoga, fishing, picnicking, hanging out, etc.  Also handy for transporting SUP and paddle to and from water while keeping your hands free (except the one used to carry your board ... haha!).

Purchased it for $20 + tax.  Selling for $17 (includes me mailing it to you ... unless you live in Phoenix, AZ, in which case you can come pick it up, if you'd like, for $15).

Gear Talk / Paddle holders ... do they work? ... are they worth the $$?
« on: September 04, 2017, 02:56:55 PM »
I like the idea of having a "paddle holder" ... a place where I can put my paddle when I'm not using it (while still on the water ... NOT storage) so that it doesn't slide off the board and get away from me.  I'm also thinking it will be handy for transporting my SUP from board to water and back again ... leaving at least one hand free.  Have any of you had experience with these to know whether or not they work or are just a waste of time and money?

Gear Talk / BUNGEE or TIE DOWN placement
« on: September 04, 2017, 02:49:45 PM »
I'm FINALLY ready to commit to permanently adhering my bungee/tie downs to my board.  Need to get some ideas about placement.  I'll be SUPing with my dog (50#, med sized dog), so I'd love feedback on where best to mount the tie downs on my 10'6" Riviera.  Thanks!:D

Gear Talk / DIY board sock
« on: August 28, 2015, 04:22:51 PM »
I'm looking to make an elastic-casing board cover/sock for short term transporting of my SUP.  Traveling the highways to lakes out here in AZ can yield road debris being kicked up by trucks.  (I've got a full bag for longer trips.)  Any of you have experience in making your own?  Anything in particular I should consider when "designing" this thing?  One of the examples (attached)that I'm considering copying doesn't have deep coverage inside the rails ... so I'm wondering if wind can get up easily inside a sock like this.  Thanks in advance for any thoughts and/or tips!   :-*

Gear Talk / Rack for a bare roof vehicle (ie: no factory racks)
« on: September 25, 2014, 05:41:50 PM »
I have a Honda Civic with no factory racks.  I use a soft rack system to secure my SUP to the top of my car (2 pads and 2 buckled straps).  The soft rack is strong and secure, but I get alot more road noise/chatter at highway speeds than I'd like ... especially for a long trip to the coast.   :o  I do the recommended couple of twists in the sides of each strap, which is supposed to take care of chatter, but it's still more than I want to hear.  Any ideas for something that will lessen road noise and will not require factory installation of a base rack?

SUP General / Suggestions for an all-carbon paddle
« on: August 10, 2014, 06:12:48 PM »
I'm looking to buy my first paddle.  I would love to get the QB Flyweight, x-small blade, but it's pricey.  I want all-carbon (NOT carbon and fiberglass ... just carbon fiber), with a stiff blade and shaft that will be good to propel me through mostly rivers and lakes, some ocean.  Anyone tried a paddle, that fits this description, that they really like?  AND that won't break the bank? ;) Thanks!  I'm female, 5'5", athletic.  I'd love to hear from some of the other SUP ladies out there.   :)

Looking for my first board.  Becker has been a household name in my town for decades, and I know they put out quality surfboards, but I cannot find even one review on their line of SUPs.  Have any of you paddled on one?  Where?  How did it handle?  Craftsmanship? (I'm assuming it's good since they shape in Hermosa Beach... same shaper as their surfboards.)  I'm looking for a board to handle mostly lakes and rivers (I'm out in Phoenix, AZ, now) as well as some small surf (someday! 8))  I'm 5'5", female, 118 lbs.
