Some nice shots from the Surfer Mag web site. #16 is one of the best bottom turns on a standup I have seen.   http://surfermag.com/photos/flash/bass-indo/

Sessions / Whales Breath
« on: October 14, 2007, 08:25:06 PM »
After trying to score this one reef break a bunch of times it all went just right on Sat. light wind smooth faces and one-two feet overhead on the sets. I think I learned the meaning of the phrase Wave Hog it's hard not to be one when you standup, good thing I knew the other three guys that were out.
The odd thing was this grey whale in the small channel between the right we were surfing and the left to the south it was maybe 25-30 yards from us at most and you came closer when you rode a wave and paddled back out through the channel anyway to make a long story longer I never new about their breath it's way bad you just don't want to be up close and personal with these guys.

Sessions / No more flat water
« on: August 20, 2007, 06:28:21 PM »
Last session saturday.Went to bed 2am phone rings 7.30 am, coffee, pull on wetsuit hit the water 8.30
Close period wind swell maybe chest high. Starts out kind of glassy for oregon then light south wind a couple hours later maybe six waves and falling off more than I care to think about. Lessons learned. Get some sleep. Don't paddle to much flat water it just makes  you think your good. Go out when it's bumpy it makes you better. For me it's all about the waves and they will soon be here!
