The spring is a double torsion with what looked like a 45 degree offset.  It wouldn't even hold the cam completely up with no strap on it.  I opened the spring up to about 120 degree offset. I'm going to look for some different springs to put in there.

For everybody that has a sup taxi. I just got one and realized after several trips with my board that the rear cam wasn't holding the strap tight. The springs on both cams were extremely loose. I took them apart and opened up the springs so the cams now put more pressure on the straps. Lift up on your board to check the straps before you go.

I picked up the lifeproof case at best buy yesterday. I immediately called someone to ask how i sounded. They said no different than before the case. I think the screen flatness is improved over the iphone 4s case. It is harder to use the screen around the edges but those are the trade offs for a waterproof case.  The fitment of the 2 halves is also improved.  I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the case to someone else.

I'm 150 lbs soaking wet and i started out on a starboard drive 10'5 x 30. It was good for flat water, ankle biters, and waves up to head high.  Maybe the blend would be better for your weight?  I don't like boards over 30 inches wide. I think they are hard to turn on the waves and slow.

good design, how do you attach it to the board ?

I have a 1/4 inch thick plate with 2 threaded holes stuck to the board.

Does anyone else have a problem with their GoPro camera folding back while paddling out through the surf?  I made a foam wedge that mounts in front of the camera to deflect the wave but I was wondering if anyone else had a better solution.  i will post a picture of the "wedge" later tonight.

I have a Starboard Drive in AST blue and it chips very easily along the rails from paddle hits.  I also have creased the board from rail to rail across the top from the nose hitting the bottom.  I surf a  3-5 foot beach break.  The board surfs awesome though.

If you epoxy the mast track into a divinycell box and epoxy that into the board.  Will this be strong enough or is glassing required?  How big does the divinycell box need to be?
