Wife's cousin and her family lost their house (albeit a rental). Escaped with little more than the clothes they wore. She just had enough time to warn a few neighbors that were sleeping still. Very close but her, her husband and 4 kids all are safe, and that's what counts.

Shorty SUPs are wonderful once you catch the wave. My problem was that I grew to like some paddling glide to catch waves.

Looks like a fun board. I rode a similar model back in ... well, it was a while ago. I remember going a wee bit dizzy looking at the deck pad.

Rolf, We'll be up visiting my daughter on the weekend of 12/3 and 12/4 if you feel like a surf. I shared your article with friends and coworkers. It was certainly better told than my stammering and arm waving rendition. Til next meetup, Jim

I've never been to Florida, but my TV is showing me pictures of the mess. Any news from the zoners in the area?

https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2022/01/19/1071809356/covid-booster-omicron-efficacyAs someone who is surrounded by extremes of vax and antivax, I always try to listen to both sides. I've had the first two shots, after getting covid. Haven't had omicron yet, but I fully expect to get it. I'm not getting a booster. Let nature do it's worst. I'm part of the herd. I have a higher chance of dying on So Cal freeways everyday, my chance of survival would go up with a week or two off work. Literally everyone I know and come in contact with has had Covid recently... boosted to the hilt and the Sans-vax. My wife's school has 30% of the kids and teachers out, as does my son's 150 person workplace. The tsunami is here. Duckdive!

Everyone I've known that owned or owns this board raves about it's surfability. I demo'd one at Doheny, and loved it. Surfed great, nose rides like a dream. They are quite thin and fragile near the nose so don't go off-road during noserides, but other than that, it's a keeper for sure.

at those Kg's I'd probably surf a 9-2/32 or 9/31 size board. A wide point is for bubbas like me, and lighter weights that don't want to ever be tippy in any kind of chop. The Widepoint is a good stable starting point, and a fun ride for whenever you need to be stable. (for scale - I'm 119 kg's (250 lbs) and surf a 165L 9-6 x 33 Sup Sports stoke normally. Ordering a new board here shortly ) Welcome to the forum. Welcome to the sport.

That's probably a fun board if you can find one. My bubba of a brother just bought a BP 11-4 by 36" wide ...heck I don't know what you call it... probably should be at least destroyer class. I took it out at San O a couple weekends ago and after a couple teaser waves, had a blast surfing it. Easily the biggest board I've ever been on, and it was a gas. My brother will enjoy this one... if he ever gets the balance down (does he even need balance on this?) Point is, Blue Planet makes pretty surfable boards. I knew there was a point in there somewhere.

The missus and I still only SUP Surf, but we hang out with the foil crew because they're so chipper and happy all the time with their new toys and tales of gliding and revelry. I still see more suppers than foilers but it's getting closer to even these days.

My wife has a board with similar dimensions, and it's my son's go to, as well as my niece when she visits. Someone will snap this deal up quickly I believe. (too bad it's not a hair bigger or it would be sold already).
