Mr. Big, only wished I spent a little more time talking to you when I was playing my music that day, when I saw you a couple days before this encounter. Possibly, it would have been one of the last times that I would have seen you! I was at the same break all week  and I left the day  that you got hit. This is one of my favorite breaks, and I have to just keep on telling myself that it was the pacemaker and Whitey wants nothing to me... even though a 16-18 surfaced near Tim, Damian and myself last June at Cahoon Hollow. My protection is the CCBC hook, which I wear whenever I'm in the water. I was wondering why  PDLSFR wouldn't put his feet in the water during the CCBC breaks, until he told me afterwards that something big swam under is board.  Maybe we'll  earn one in the relay next year, stop this sh.t from happening... only appropriate that we played for the Chatham Sharks men's league baseball together. Glad your okay Cleve

They will have that place filled in, up and running in less than the week. Look on the bright side, one less New Yorker on Cape roads

I've paddled a lot of that route many times. Life is always better by the ocean and I'm glad you found your happy place! Looking forward to seeing you guys Friday night.

Stoney,
Jeff Wright used to live in Manomet and has told me that there can be some beautiful overhead rideable waves there. As you're looking out, that right hand corner has a nice break. Just like Plymouth though, conditions have to line up right

Anyone staying in Wellfleet for a few days? Donavon Frankenreiter is playing at The Beachcomber Monday night. It's a usually a cool scene and we party in the parking lot prior to. Just look for the line of pickups with the beds facing the ocean and you can bet we'll have some great cocktails to share. Also Supthecreek may possibly be sighted as he has a lifetime Beachcomber pass. In fact I think it's the only one in existence.

)I heard rumours about the 10th! Ferry to P town for the families! Original destination for 10th anniversary. Party all the way back on the ferry to Plymouth ....Only 17 miles, I'm in! Uhmmmm no. Despite knowing it's the same 30 + mile I'm in. Going to give it a shot, always said I'd do it untill I had to get in the boat...cool Caribsurf, saw your first post about it today, as I was wondering. Wouldn't be the same without you... and Tequila will be the choice for this year's 10th!...Mr PDLSFR... keeping it fresh and new. To the originals such as Stoneaxe and Pono, see you out there whether it be for one mile or 30 plus. And also, what is the song for the CCBC ukulele band this year? Simplicity would be a bonus... suggestions welcome

ya gotta admire a guy who can still deal with the weather of Cape Cod after all those years, which is nice about 2.5 months a year. and during those few moments, the greenheads will eat you alive (let's not even talk about their much bigger white buddies). more power to ya, STC, the stoke obviously dwarfs all that noise.

More like 7 months out of the year then the hard core come out for the winter surfing.

So true. Hola south of the border!

Stop screwing around and write a book....:)

I remember doing the Cape Cod Bay Challenge and looking over at Rick in the support boat. I got inspiration from the man that couldn't do the 34 plus mile paddleboard marathon, yet could surf circles around me. Your history is interesting, your stories are inspiring, sit down, think it out, write it down, and let us know when it comes out...seriously

What a great article. I first met Rick on nauset beach about 6 years ago, he was about 150 pounds heavier and his knees were heavily scarred from trying to learn how to SUP. I knew we would become friends, and I count myself lucky to be one of them. I guess SUP gave him a second wind in surfing, in the whole SUP Community here on Cape Cod has benefited. BTW that "Draw back to the Cape" stuff is for real. Anybody that has spent a summer or grew up coming to their grandparents house on the cape, like me,has it in their blood.

Good to hear that it looks like the new spot will be 20 yards north of the prior spot. 20 yards less to carry my board while doing the slalom around tourist and seal peepers. It will get done. How many cars fit there on one hot summer weekend in July X $20 a pop?
The government is not stupid when it comes to revenue.

Enjoying The Tedeschi Trucks Band lately. Derek Trucks is the  nephew of recently passed Butch trucks from The Allman Brothers, and played with them for a while. His wife is the lead singer Susan Tedeschi .  He's a great slide player, and here is their cover of "Everybody's talking" by Harry Nilsson. It's nothing like the original and really showcases their talent

SUP General / Re: Any details on this PSH All Arounder?
« on: February 25, 2017, 12:13:06 PM »
That's a good find at a good price. I had an 11-foot PSH all arounder and upgraded to this for my second board. The actual dimensions are 9'1" by 28 and 5/8". Mine is a 2010 model and contained no hand hold. It was one of the first models to come to the mainland. My guess is that yours is a 2011 or so. I think this was just before Blane Chambers sold to Surftech? You'll be happy with the ruggedness of this board. I've had my for five years now and it's in great condition. One thing I noticed is that you going to walk around this board a lot. With any type of offshore winds you're going to want to walk towards the front of the board to get the nose down.

I guess that's why they call it Stinky's! Incidentally, that picture at Anclote is showing some decent size. When I was there when it was big, the swell would start gaining size out by that furthest sailboat. I was catching some 300-yard rides for about 30 to 40 seconds. It was like that for about six of the 30 days that I was there. When it's on this wave is the absolute funnest I've ever been on.

La Quinta del Sol is a solid, reasonably priced stay in Punta Mita. We bought fresh fish and vegetables everyday from the fish market and then cooked out on the rooftop kitchen every night. It's right in front of a great little brake called Stinky's.
You can walk into the commercial boat section from the motel and talk to a guy named Rudy. He will set you up with a boat for about 40 bucks to take you to anyone of maybe five different breaks where they will stay with you for 2 hours and then bring you back. The best way to get there this rent a car right outside the airport and drive. If you want to do a day trip you can rent a car and head out to all the towns north of there in one day, although Sayulita is closest, I would save that to the end for dinner and fun. Sayulita is 20 minutes north, then you have San Pancho, de los Marcos, and other towns leading up to Chacala. All can be done in one day and my personal favorite is Los Ayalas, where you can get a couple of Yellowtail Snappers charcoal-grilled on a stick and a cold Pacifico for about 2 bucks. Sorry, I can't figure out how to print these pictures right side up. The first is of Stinky's taken from  the hotel.
