You could check in with Urban Surf. They put on a race series in the summer so will probably know who you should contact. Kudos on swiping that Starboard. You beat me to it! 😜

Anyone remember this rig? Jim Rogers had it built for his 3 year round-the-world trip

SUP General / Re: Is 12'6 like a 26" Mtn Bike?

Sometimes I think it's just a certain sales slant. I recently was in a shop asking about the Starboard Freeride 12'2", and the guy barely acknowledged the board, although they sell it. He then proceeded to show me all their 12'6" touring boards priced way more than the Freeride, even after I told him price and storage were issues. He wasn't rude about it, but he was definitely nudging me one way. It has happened with other products that I've shopped for too. There are reasons why you can buy a 12'6" and 14' Glide. Make sure of your needs, demo if possible, and stick to what you want.

An added tip for Craig's, search sup under 'boats' as well as sporting. I just scored a Widepoint that was only listed under boats.

Guess I have my indicator off. Missed many of these responses. Thanks for the pics Ralph! Thanks too  gjb for the review! Still have the board? Any thoughts now? I guess now I need to demo it. Sounds like it would be great for me here on Puget Sound. I'm 15 min from Chambers Bay if anyone wants to see it from the water

Thanks Robert, will do, and a big belated congrats to you and your shop!

Thanks Raf. I've been paddling and surfing a Laird 12'1" and until recently had a Lahui Kai race board. The Freeride seems like an in between. Looks like you confirmed it. Bummed I never got up to see you and paddle Maine before my move out here.

Been quite awhile since I've posted on here. Relocated to Washington from back east. I'm ready to get back at it. Looking for user info on the Freeride. I can get one locally for a good price and there was a little chatter about it here and seabreeze last year. Looking for something for the Sound and don't have room for a 14. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the info. The place where we are staying is just up from Crescent Beach. The owner says one of the beaches in walking distance from the house is a big kite boarder spot.

Going with the fam for a week in Sept. Looking to rent a board, but it seems the shops I googled have outdated links etc. Can anyone recommend a shop in the area? Thanks much
