Almost new condition Quickblade Trifecta 86 sq inches.  80 Inches long,  EVA
handle, with Oval tapered shaft.   Includes Quickblade paddle bag.  Available for pickup
in Corpus Christi TX, or can ship within U.S. (buyer pays shipping).  Really nice paddle,
selling because I went with a bit shorter Trifecta 86 and do not use this one
anymore.  $285 with bag, buyer pays shipping  Please message me on Standupzone if interested.

From Quickblade:  This paddle has a narrow blade tip and gets fuller in the mid section
making for a softer catch yet very powerful mid stroke. It has a double concave blade
face that blends nicely into a pronounced dihedral that really adds stability to the
stroke while eliminating blade flutter.
Excellent for distance racing, down winders, surfing and touring.

Just moved to Corpus Christi.  Looking for some people to paddle with.  Anyone else here?  Would be great to meet up and train some for race season.

Saw some pics of Chase and Jamie Mitchell at the Carolina Cup with what looks like a really skinny blade.  Looks like the Trifecta but with a smaller blade size?  Just curious if anyone knows if it was the QB trifecta or something else.

Sounds like I need to get out and try some boards.

SUPpaddler:  The MHL has been my favorite board so far.  Really stable, fast, and worked well in lots of different conditions.  Even surfed little waves surprisingly well.  Would highly recommend them. Only thing keeping me away from getting another is a new custom is out of my price range.  Need to probably stick with something used.  May be able to get a little bit of a deal on a starboard.  Was just curious what others are on for ocean paddling since I have not tried out a lot of boards.

Going to see if I can find one for demo.  So you think the 14 x 26" would be a better choice than the 14 x 25"? The 14 x 26 MHL felt really stable after getting use to it and I was thinking maybe going a little more narrow would be faster?

Thanks PT Woody.  Really like the looks of the 14 x 25 SB All Star.  Anyone know of a shop in Florida that has one for demo?

Thanks again for all the advice.  Really refreshing how positive everyone is on this forum.

Thanks a lot for the help.  Was leaning towards staying on the 14.  So I was on a 14 x 26" MHL custom.  Totally stuffed it in a wave (my fault not the board).  Board felt plenty stable to me.  I am 155 lb.  so not really wanting to go with anything wider.  Anyone have some recommendations for a good all around ocean/race board that can handle some chop and wind?

Gear Talk / 12'6" vs. 14' for choppy ocean conditions
« on: July 04, 2013, 03:43:03 PM »
Hi Everyone,

Looking for some advice between getting a 12'6 or 14 ft race board, mostly for paddling in the ocean in Florida.  I have been using a 14' x 26" for 2 years now and love it.  Unfortunatly I buckled it in 2 places a couple of days ago and thinking it might not be repairable.  Going to bring it in to a board repair guy to check it out, but having fun looking around for a new board.  Only thing I did not like about the 14 was it could be a little tough in windy unorganized chop/crossed up swell.  Would a 12'6" be easier/faster in these conditions?  Maybe something like the Starboard All Star?
If anyone has some experience on a good all around ocean board for handling going into the wind, side wind, down wind, and still pretty fast in flat water let me know.  I am 6'1, 155 lbs.  Like racing and go for a paddle pretty much everyday.

Just put up a Naish Nalu wood 11'4" for sale that might be perfect for you.   This was my first board and it worked great.  I am wanting to go to something smaller for waves.  Let me know if you want to check it out.
