Gear Talk / Electric Bike with SUP trailer
« on: July 02, 2019, 08:13:04 AM »
I'm seeing a few fat tire electric bikes cruising the beaches here in Southern NJ. With the Army Corps of Engineers having just completed a beach widening and dune project here, the hike to the waters edge with a SUP hasn't gotten any easier for this mid-60's paddler. Wondering if anyone has an electric bike set up with SUP trailer? If so, what does your rig look like. Which bike and trailer? Photos would be great! Thanks!

Check out the F One 14 Race. 29" wide. Decent amount of rocker for ocean and going downwind. Might not be the fastest flatwater board but very versatile.I'm 6'3" and 210 lbs.

Great post Jim!

T.O. is an exceptional ocean athlete, a fine gentleman and a humble and deserving champion. And to think that only a couple of years back, he was asking me all kinds of SUP questions. It didn't take him long to figure it out, but who didn't know that was going to happen?

Mik911... Yes, that's a SupSports 9'6" x 30.5" Stoke. Worked really well for me in Namotu!

Thanks Creek. Agreed...the Fanatic AllWaves are very versatile boards and JimK is a great guy to work with. I actually rode the 8'10" out in Hunington Beach this winter and couldn't find much wrong with it. My only gripe might have been how they got that much volume into an 8'10 and it definitely is due to thickness. Most boards in the 9' range are about 4" thick whereas the 8'10" Allwave is 4.5". If I didn't already have the Pearson Arrow for the slower/smaller/mushier days, I'm sure I would have gone with the Allwave from Jim, but I'm looking for something a little more aggressive with about 135-140 liters. Hopefully something I can take to Fiji WHEN I go back!

Gear Talk / F-One...need advice
« on: March 05, 2013, 07:21:26 AM »
I have the F-One 14 Race and love it! Need to get a new wave board and was looking at the F-One Wave line. Really nice lineup of pure wave boards (Anakao) and fun boards/egg shapes (Manawa). I'm torn between the 9'5"x30.5" 145 liter Anakao and the 9'0"x30.5 135 liter Manawa. Has anyone ridden one or both of these? I'm 6'3" 210 lbs. Board will be used for East Coast on the faster/cleaner/hollower days as I have a 10'6" Laird Pearson Arrow for the smaller/mushier days. Any thoughts on which board to go with would be greatly appreciated. Link below to see the boards.

Pro Lites suck! Bought 2 of the SUP 10' calf leashes and both broke in less than a year on head high or smaller waves.

I own the F-One 14' Race. I am very happy with the build quality of that board. At 6'3" 205 lbs, I'm not even close to being able to ride the 7'11", but I 've been looking at some of the larger boards in their surf models. Very impressive line-up. Trying to decide between the Anakao 9'1" x 30  and the Manawa 9'0" x 30.5.
