I can only speak to the Jimmy Lewis B&B....Iím short, this board (for me) is the absolute perfect platform.  Iím a pretty fit 57 at 6í1 and 182lbs and aspire to be a proficient noserider and cross-stepper.  Iíve documented my progress in various videos here on the forum over the last year on my yellow flat nose (vice concave nose) B&B.  Itís ceryainly not the only board out there but has to be top 3 or so for this type of riding.

Have fun!!!!

Stoney:  Awesome job on the Ray......looks VERY cool!  Nicely done!

I'm only 4 miles from my surf breaks and wish I could ride a bike to them but I'd be flirting with disaster the second I got out of my quiet shoulder and fast moving traffic on Rt 138 (East Main Rd) for about 3/4's of a mile with no real work around/alternate route.  :(

Wow, just wow! Beautiful region for sure........really like the vid and can't wait to see more!

Hope you can find a good place to set up the SS3 and capture footage!!!!

Have fun!

Nice Scallop!  Like the bucket hat too!  I love small waves and actually prefer them far more over head high and above which simply makes be a spectator.

Smaller waves often equals less people out and more fun to goof around and experiment with far less consequence!!!!   8) 8) 8)

Ditto on the SS3!

Transition lenses? Yes, definitely worth it....simple reason: early mornings before the sun comes up and cloudy days!!!  The headstrap they come with snap into the frame...which I believe is a VERY VERY good design. Here's a few pics of my stuff....

FRP:  Iíve been a SilverFish advocate for a couple of them!  I have them corrected for my near-sightedness. I can surf without them but I find corrected lenses just makes things better all around.  I also have two pair of straight prescription sunglasses and the other prescribed clear lenses which transition to shade depending on sky.  The straps they come with are awesome and the little rubber nose attachments are a must for added comfort and allowing air to freely move between your face and the lenses (to stay fog free).  I use antifog spray every few outing and thatís it.  Not cheap but Iím happy and will stick with them for any future needs.  Probably other vendors out there so check around.  Also search this forum...,I started a thread on this subject a year or so back.  As a side, Iíve tried contacts in the surf and lost at least one every session....

lol...Nice. That cross stepping was almost as cool as the extended Quasi! Very cool and entertaining.

I noticed an impact vest and waist leash. I nev tried a vest but did demo Wetstuff's waist leash. It's just too much gear. Dealing w/a paddle is enough for me!

Cookie:  I got whacked by an old board a couple of years ago in the midsection that was pretty brutal so I was looking for something to protect the torso area and I came upon the patagonia vest.....had it been my head I probably would have adopted a helmet. The vest has become part of my regular gear no matter what size.  The significant bonus is the float! Prescription (SilverFish) glasses round out the costume.  As for a waist leash...not for me at this point....I like my calf leash for my B&B and ankle leash on my Creek.

TD:  Love those pics!!!!  Couldn't remember who did the quasi first....was thinking it was Mckey Dora.  Nonetheless, very cool poster.  I notice he's a regular foot with left arm forward in the quasi.....I'm a goofy foot and put my right arm forward in my semi-quasi attempt - interesting!  Gotta remember "El Telephono" for next time.  ::) :o ;D

I love the stylish classic 50's/60's longboard moves to include the funny stuff....that and nose riding is I aspire to do and just have fun in the water and laugh each session!

This is priceless.......Whatsup can you post a higher resolution of this? May be the in the highlite reel of the year!

FRP:  Big (ah, Speedy) and I had a blast......really small but just one of those rare uncrowded days of goofing around.  I don't even know what processed me to do the "quasi" move.  A wave or two before I caught and decided to drop my paddle and did the move for the first time ever.  I remember chuckling as I did it and hoped Biggie would see it and give me some pointers or get a laugh or some such thing - he didn't.  It seemed funny to me so I decided to try it again and was in a position to yell to Big and say "watch this".  The clip in the vid is the second time I ever tried it and I did/do get a chuckle out of it.  Not sure it'll be a staple.....would like to pull it off up on the front of the board sometime.  8)

Happy B-Day to the Birthday Boys!!!!!  Many more trips around the sun!

Was a bit bored of eating and drinking to excess from the past couple of days and decided to spend some quiet time (ok, cranked the classic rock station) in the garage and went over my "go to" boards and get ready for what looks like a fun week of waves.  I'm always good about rising my equipment off with fresh water after each session - December was a good month with 10 outings.  I found numerous nicks on trailing edges of my boards' fins, as well as leashes that needed some attention....i.e., set screws nearly 1/2 to 3/4's backed out at multiple connection points, leash strings that were at least 1/2 frayed thru....etc.

Anyways, tightened fins, thoroughly cleaned leashes, sanding trailing edges of rough/sharp edges of multiple fins between my Creek and Jl B&B, replaced leash strings, and completed overall inspections of leashes and nose to tail inspections.  No guarantee's from a long swim but risk reduced for sure! ....and I had fun spending time caring for some prized possessions and reading for the coming days/month!!!!
