You could kneel, as long as you can get to the water without tweaking the ankle.

MSM is owned and operated by the ruling class, so the narrative we are fed is one that protects their power.
Of course they are going to portray Biden more favorably than Bernie or Tulsi Gabbard.

"Democrats would rather lose to a Republican than win with a progressive".  J Dore

Try looking at things from that perspective for a bit, see if it doesn't shed light on the msm narrative.

"I watch CNN (among others) and there is no way that they can be viewed as Neutral or in any part Neutral.  It is very us vs them.  I am part of the us but I still dislike that fact."

They've got you--and millions of others--duped, Admin.
CNN is "us vs them, but the "us" is the establishment/ruling elite and "them" is the rest of the population.
And until the majority of people start viewing candidates, policies and elections in terms of the establishment vs the people,
as opposed of Dem vs Repub, power will remain in the hands of corporations and the 1% instead of the people, where it belongs.

Just one example of how CNN (and all msm) is on the side of the ruling class:  why do you think Biden is promoted so heavily over Bernie?
And why was Bernie so ignored in 2016?

"Keep in mind that 50% of americans do not pay any federal income tax.  It's kind of hard to give those folks a tax break.  They are benefiting from the low unemployment though."

Why tax people not making a living wage?

What doesn't get talked about is people making more off their money than most working people earn (often way more) from their labor.  That in itself is bad enough, that they have lower tax rates than working people is absurd.

Highly recommend Jimmy Dore on Youtube for insight into politics you won't get many other places.

FYI, he spends the majority of time railing against the DNC and msm.

Agree w the premise of this thread.  Funny how it seems to have opened the door to political comments within it.  Since it has, it shouldn't be out of line to add 2¢.

Could it be that the framework of Dem vs Rep (liberal vs conservative, blue vs red) this country is stuck in plays right into the hands of the ruling class?  It keeps the masses divided and viewing one another as the opposition, when the main adversary of 80% or more of "the people" is the ruling class itself (the top .001% and largest multinational corporations).

That ruling class has bought the politicians, rigged the economy to their benefit, and owns mainstream media.   Whether its Fox, Breitbart, AM radio, or the supposed liberal media, they all give you "news"  ("messages" is more like it) those in charge want you to hear.  How often do any of them talk about the growing threat of climate change, the economic destruction of trickle down policies, or how unnecessary all our wars are along with the financial burden of the defense budget?  Listening to all sides of msm does not make one more or better informed, just duped by both sides of a warped, distorted coin.  Even NPR has been taken over by corporate interests.

For those who believe there is a liberal media, please explain why they marginalized, ignored, and smeared Bernie Sanders during the 2016 primary.

Instead of viewing politics, elections and candidates as Dem vs Rep, we need to think in terms of The People vs .001%, main st vs wall st,  workers vs corporations.  Otherwise we'll remain split and the ruling elite will remain in power.

I've known for ages that I need to be starving to do my best thinking or my best work.

Don't know if anything focuses a mind more than being truly hungry.
And true hunger seems like something few Americans ever experience any more. Not talking about nutritionally starved or malnourished, talking about calorie starved.  It's simply too easy to avoid.

Yet it's the primary dictator of behavior in the animal kingdom, one that is ever present for most creatures.
Could humans be missing out by not getting the brain sharpening/focus workouts that regular bouts of ravenous hunger provide?

Had a crippling case of heel pain years ago.
Birkenstocks were the only footwear I could walk in pain free.
Wore them exclusively for a few weeks, then used expensive
ortho inserts in my other shoes and the problem went away.

After losing the orthos, found Walkfit inserts to be just as effective and
have used them ever since  (as preventative medicine, don't want to experience
that ever again)

I've heard it takes a lot of turmeric to be effective.
Going to try this recipe and up the dose of turmeric and ginger.
Wellnessmama is a worthwhile site.

"Oh please, if the last 7 years of Obama has taught us anything, it is that there's NO DIFFERENCE between the R's and the D's."

magentawave:  I am disappointed in Obama and democrats as well.

But are you saying there would be no difference between a President Cruz and a President Sanders?

A vote for Hillary is a vote for the status quo.

A vote for Bernie is a vote for a political revolution   (which we desperately need, imo).

A vote for any of the R's is a vote for hypocrisy, war, trickle-down, climate denial, and general recklessness.

Believe the choice has never been so clear.

I'm hearing Rod Serling's voice...

feet: "While this probably should be an issue left up to the individual user, the nanny state clearly is in full effect here, as it was with seat belt laws, helmet laws and a plethora of other "we have your best interest in mind" legislation."

As the "state" often ends up paying for medical bills resulting from a crash, it is not reasonable for the state to require safety measures that minimize injuries  (i.e., seat belts and helmets) ?   Nanny state laws that seem to be "we have your best interest in mind" might actually be "we have our best interest in mind"  (limiting damage and costs picked up by the public, or state).  Maybe the Coast Guard requires us to have
PFD's in order to limit searches and the $$$ they cost.  If so, the leash requirement makes more sense.

During a recent paddle, a marine patrol paid a visit solely for the purpose of checking for a lifejacket.
I asked what would happen if I hadn't had one--he said he'd write a ticket, $90.  Not even a warning ?
Absolutely not, he said.   Thinking about it later, PFD's are not required for open water swimming.  So they probably aren't required for swimming w a kickboard  (even miles offshore).   How is an SUP not a 12 ft kickboard ?  If you are in the water kicking behind your 12 ft kickboard, are you still required to have a lifejacket ?  If the water police approach and you forgot your PFD, can you jump in the water and get on w your high resistance kicking workout that is exempt from the PFD requirement ?

Stupid logic, maybe.  But it shows the lack of sense for the law as it stands.
