The Wide Aquatic's a nice looking board. Any idea how much it weighs? (bathroom scale?)
I'm looking for a lighter weight wide surfing board that I can carry some distance down the cliffs to the breaks.

My thoughts: There's no shame in going wider. 
A wider board, or a cruising/surfing shape would be much more stable than a 14x27 race board. (you're not racing anyone anyway)
Perhaps just to get the feel of the chop, etc.  Once you feel comfortable, you can always move down in width, or a racier shape.
I'd rather have fun NOW, not suffer/fall/curse for a season.
I have multiple boards for what the conditions call for.  Not going to flail on my 14x28 Bark in heavy chop/swell, when I can go to my 12'6"x30 Fanatic, or even my 12'6" x 30 Cruiser planing hull, and have a good time.

I too, love to paddle a couple miles to less populated reefs to surf.  And speaking of Ron House Coastal Cruiser, that's why I got it. Does exactly what I want it to do. My only complaint is it's a heavy board-carrying it down the trail to the beach is a bear.   Allison fins keeps it tracking straight, surfs well, and small fins avoids the reef on low tide (ask me how I know).

You're doing all the right things (letting waves go,etc), so at a certain point, you've just gotta develop some thicker skin.
When they see that you can surf, it helps. I'm respectful, but not Mr Nice Guy and let them have all the waves.
Don't let them develop a bully mentality whereby you're nice, they take advantage, and vicious circle.
If they make a bone head move (e.g. drop in on someone, or miss a wave), I let him see me watching--put him in his place.
Stand up for your right to surf there.

Yeah, the 11.mm measurement on your fin is 'deeper' than the fin box allows on my non-SupSports board.
Want to take advantage of using your fin, so shims are next.

Those fins for the deeper box have an extra 3-4 mm (visual guess) of depth in front.  It is easily rasped off for the more shallow box. 

When using the deeper fin in a shallow box, the front of the base sticks out of the box and is not fully seated.  Maybe, that is what the OP describes.  If not fully seated, a marginally tight fin base might remain loose.  Even if one shims the fin with a thin material, such as a thin film or soft drink can material, the front of the fin sticks up and must reduce fin efficiency--not very pleasing.

Yes this is my situation.  3-4mm extra depth to the fin (where the screw goes through).  When screwed in tight, the fin does NOT stick up, but the fin is not fully seated, so still move fore/aft in the fin box
As suggested, maybe i'll rasp or dremel 3-4 mm off the fin base.

I have a SUP Sports Wardog center fin off a Hammer I used to own.  Tried mounting the fin on another board (Hoe Nalu), but it doesn't secure. The screw tightens down, but the fin is still loose in the fin box, freely moving up/down the fin box.  Comparing the fin base where the screw goes in, the Wardog fin is deeper than my other fin, thus despite tightly screwed to the nut, is still free to move around in the fin box.

Does this fin need to be cut down/sanded down? 
Has others had this problem?
