How do you carry your fins? On the board would be comfortable but if your leggie broke no help, I guess you could strap them to your camelback somehow. I remember a friend on Maui used to carry fins when windsurfing bommies far off shore, it's pretty easy to get separated from your windsurf gear in big waves.

Carabinas on the back of my PFD.....

If I'm doing solo paddles to bombies and across open water I have a PFD and swim fins.....no matter how good you think you are mother ocean always has something new to throw at you.....

I reckon its pretty importnat to give yourself a test everything now and again..its gives life more colour...you appreciate things a little more especailly after a 2k open ocean swim chasing a lost board or a two wave hold down in serious surf

I have never surfed there. I have a friend who is a very respectable surfer who has a close friend that lives and surfs there. He went up there to visit his friend and when the surf dropped enough, they went for a surf. My friend had to wait on the beach while his friend paddled out to the lineup to ask all of the surfers there is it was ok for his friend to come out to surf. He was granted permission and said it was a great wave, but pretty scary. He said the water exit was very scary.
