Title: Lairds challenge
Post by: surfpainter on July 28, 2007, 06:36:59 PM
When I first saw "stand up paddling" it was Laird Hamilton doing this on Maui using a giant board with giant paddle. It did not even faze me that I might love this activity years later. I even looked closely at his boards ( when he wasn't looking) thru one of his friends. Was anyone doing Stand up along with Laird besides Dave or Loch?. No one can dispute the pure magic Laird posesses in the water but there are some serious other watermen whom are taking this sport to levels we have yet to see. Does it really matter who brought this exciting new sport up from the dreamy past of the Waikiki Beach Boys?...
