Title: wavesailing SB stinger or super fish?
Post by: Nemo on October 27, 2009, 02:26:23 PM
I have a naish 9.6 quadfin, and i'm going to fit a mastbase on it, is there anybody out there who have tried the sb stinger or superfish recon they will behave similar as mine. I have done a lot of longboard sailing with my naish 10.6 and it's fun but i think the 9.6 turns way better as a supboard and cathes waves as easy so i have sold the 10.6 but want the abillity to put a sail on it when the wind is to strong to paddel and to low to wavesail on my naish wave 80.

Hi Nemo,
I think that the Naish 9'6' would work fine to wavesail in lighter winds...fun board to paddlesurf...would complement your 80 liter Naish...

I've paddlesurfed and wavesailed the Starboard 9' Stinger and 9'8" SuperFish...as well as the 9'8" Fish, and several of the bigger Starboards...

The only issue with the Naish might be with the FCS fin system being too loaded up with a sail...I'd be a bit leery about blowing the sidebiter fin inserts out...

I had our new custom North Pacifics set up with Future quad + 1 and mast track for max versatility...

Joe Blair has been making my custom quad surfboards, and also a few sailboards for us for over a decade...so it was only natural when I first got him to start shaping SUP's that they also have a mast track...these were the first 9.X' SUP's with mast tracks...

We did at least 15...and I kept 3 of them...9'7"...9'10"...and 10'2"...
I rode several of them as quads with smaller Future sidebiters and they worked unreal...

I also worked with Sean Ordonez and we made the first production 10' (9'11"), 11' (10'10"), & 12' (11'11") SUP's with mast tracks...
