Hi all, I just finished polishing up my next wingboard design. I was having trouble getting a good screenshot of the design so I'm posting a link to a 3D file you can spin around to look at. All comments welcome!

I think it looks good! To my unexpert eye I can see the logic to your design choices, but just a question on the width. What made you go for 26 and not narrower? I'm a fan of narrow boards!

Looks good. I take the squareness out of the rail up front. It makes the board more forgiving.

A good point. I'm not sure, the profile looked good to me that's how it ended up at that width. I could go narrower pretty easily but it would get a good bit thicker to keep the volume.

What design purpose is the tapered hull feature towards the tail serving? If you got rid of that taper and kept the flat portion of the hull wider at the tail you could add some volume back into the rear of the board and it might also improve stability. The rails would be boxy at the rear of the board, but personally I haven't found that to be an issue. 26" would be too wide for me - I would look for 23-24" on a similar length board.
Ive ridden a lot of boards to compare and figure out what works for me - but I've never designed one, so take this with a grain of salt! Looks like a nice design.

What design purpose is the tapered hull feature towards the tail serving?
It gets moving earlier than a wide flat bottom, by allowing water to flow around the back and exhaust off the tail with less suction drag from the tail. It is the Kalama concept. The Kalama goes to a full point, but a full point requires a longer board and further reduces stability. This is a nice compromise.
Try a Kalama. It’s shocking how low drag they are.
The only people who don’t gain an advantage riding this type board, are guys riding 600 sq cm foils that need extremely high take off speeds. So getting going early, with less drag is pointless. They need top end, high planing speeds, then lift off. So narrow boards with flat straight tails are best. That’s why all Mike’s Lab riders using 600 sq cm foils have identical boards. Narrow and flat.

It would be helpful to understand the riding conditions it's meant for and your winging skill level before asserting
any opinion. Reference to your current board and what did you aim this board to do differently/better would also help.
What dictated your choices for width, volume and tail rocker?

Looks good, I agree with DW to round the rails. As to width, it depends on your size/weight and conditions. I just made a 22.5" wide board and it's too narrow and tippy for me. Starting on a 24" wide board now as a daily driver. The small one will be for clean conditions or if I get a lot stronger lol.
My current board is almost that exact size and I love it. It's now a little bit for me but it never frustrates me. I'm 140lbs so your mileage may vary. This sport is supposed to be fun. Make it easy.

Regarding board width between the two designs (flat race vs Kalama). My feeling riding the two, is the Kalama bottoms feel less draggy as width increases. So you can enjoy the benefits of wider board without feeling like you’re winging a yacht.
